Good luck at the Dr. today.

 

I just realized I didn’t post this here yesterday, I got a call from my ophthalmologist's tech yesterday afternoon. The caller ID showed the doctors office and I immediately thought oh boy, this is not good. When I answered, she stated the conversation with “this is Shelby from Center for Sight, don’t freak out”. I had to chuckle at that and told her I was already sitting down so give it to me. She went on to tell me she had spoken directly with the retina specialist and voiced my concerns over waiting until the 26th to see him.

That doc looked at the current retina pics along with the past several years worth and said he didn’t see anything of immediate concern. He would have told me to come back on the 26th if I had seen him yesterday. He said that will give the hemorrhage time to heal so he can get a better look. Call his office immediately if there is any more floaters or sudden vision changes and he will get me right in but he sees no cause for concern right now and to tell me this is actually pretty common in guys my age and to get my BP checked. My ophthalmologist also asked about BP.

My primary has been keeping an eye on my BP as my diastolic does run a little high but he hasn’t put me on any BP meds. Sounds like that may need to change.

AC went out Tuesday morning, hottest day on record so far this year, they had to order the compressor... AC was 13 month old, GRRRRR one month out of labor warranty, AC had 10 years parts warr.... Figured OK, labor too change a compressor.... I get a quote for $2044 dollars for a warranty part replacement!!! WTF has this world come to!! Compressor is supposed to be in today, what you want to be they won't fix my air till next week sometime!!

That sucks. I got in the habit of once a year check up on the ac. These guys do a pretty good job.

 

Mine started at 1600 yesterday now in vacay mode until the 25th.... going to Hawaii....side note had a lymph node biopsy this morning. Will have results in "3-5 business days".

 

Oh, yea that was a debacle also, I have the super secret VIP service contract with the company because they put the whole new system in.... It expired the end of April and no one notified me of the expiry to see if I wanted to pay for extending it.... Then come to find out, even if I had that it would not have covered this labor or Freon. My question is WTH does in cover then!!!

nothing ever breaks until the warranty is out & you didnt extend it.

 

We have enough ac companies here they have to compete. Labor is another thing. They all charge labor even if the part is under warranty. I'm on my 2nd motor, going on my 3rd. They can't balance the fan blades so if there's any wobble it'll eventually wear the bearing. Had mine checked before summer and it's just showing wear so in October they're going to bring out a new motor. Labor is generally about $100 and if they need to top off the freon it's usually not much. Gotta have ac in the desert. Mine's on year 'round.
