    Cooler than normal, we have had one heat wave that lasted 2 days. Only got to the 90s. Another heat wave is supposed to hit Monday and last a week. Meanwhile the rest of the world is on fire.

    no decided to stay home. with the car crash yesterday having my route closed down i stayed home and then decided this morning that it probably wasn't worth it to spend $60 on gas for one night. so spent the day in town running errands. guess theres a car show tomorrow morning so i might check that out. or maybe i'll take toy fishing.

    Howdy ma'am.

    $60 is cheap for entertainment and sanity. I'm going to scout the surrounding area for a hiding spot I can hit where there are no snowbirds. They Air Force just changed their permitting stance from having to get daily permits to getting annual permits on the Barry Goldwater Range (which is almost literally in my backyard) but I don't know all the nuts and bolts of it. It still may just be day use. The Marine Corps has rangers that do patrol it. It's kinda rugged in spots but some great views.

    Oh yes, they're long gone. But they usually leave their fire rings, rockline their sites and leave a ton of tracks. The more hippie type leave painted rocks with some kind of design or message and even plant something that in no way will live nor does it belong in the desert. Of course the druggie leave some kind of trash behind and some kind of paraphernalia like needles, syringes and caps and often car batteries and defuct car parts. It isn't hard to find a good spot but it has to be legally camp-able and that could take some time scouting.
