well the new mattress showed up yesterday.....

most of you know what that means. wife & me wrestled that thing out & onto the bedframe. its a king size, wasnt horrible on the heavy part, just super awkward to move around & so on. then it says up to 72 hrs to normalize & so on.

sigh. we got this because she said we HAD to have a firmer mattress. ok. this one is extra firm, because the last one was firm. she was asleep & snoring in minutes. i could not get to sleep for HOURS. then that thing is so hard that about every hour i woke up having to turn to a different part of my body cause the other part was numb.

YEEEESH. that was miserable. she popped up this morning saying best shes slept in years & oh thats great, baby you did perfect! i grunted out: glad your happy, have a good day & sent her off to work. Holy fuk, hope my body adjusts to this thing pretty quick cause that was just pure misery & awful in every way. she was so happy that she said it was gonna get a sexy time test when she gets home today. im not even sure if my back is gonna be loosened up enough by then to even attempt it.

gotta go trim up some tree limbs that the delivery truck broke on the way up the driveway now.

    living the dream!

    Thanks Chuck

I'm fine with the test. I been getting one done every 6 months now for almost 2 years.
It's the wife working from home that has me worried.

The wife and I have one of those mattresses that you can adjust each side. Mine has to be firm for my achy bones. She likes her more on the soft side. It works out well for sleep.

I have always preferred a firm or very firm mattress, my wife prefers soft. I slept for a couple nights on a Sleep Number mattress, back in around 2005/2006 time. That was without argument, the worst thing I have ever slept on. I seriously think it was broken, as no adjustment of the pressure made any difference. That, plus their horrendously high price tag lead me to decide I would never buy one.

I have had a TempurPedic memory foam since 2005. Absolutely magic for me. Took me a little getting used to, as it sinks you in almost instantly in summer when the temp is warm, and in winter the mattress is more like wet concrete and takes a while for you to fully settle in, but the no pressure points/buttons/springs is exactly what I needed :)

Sounds like you need a sleep number bed or a couple of twin beds instead of a king...:anonymous:
