So someone, I'm sure it was the trash truck, wiped out my mailbox today. Whoever was responsible of course didn't bother to tell anyone even though the wife was home. That sucker was obliterated, no way the driver could not have known. So I had to take time off tomorrow afternoon to replace it. Looks like Santa's bringing me a new mailbox and post.

That's sucks. Hopefully it did a bunch of damage to their vehicle. I've been there, done that. Rural neighborhood, so my box is across the street from my driveway.

Current mailbox is 1/4 inch steel Amish style held up by two 4x4's and a multitude of 2 inch wood screws. It sits in 200 lbs of poured concrete. :headbang:

I live at a dead end and all manner of stuff turns around in front of my house. My neighbor across the street gets it more than I do, he's replaces his box pretty often. I like the 200 pounds of 'crete, nice touch.

I make the lazy asses walk up my driveway and put it in a door slot. they were mad I moved it at first, now they don't seem to care, and my mail is hidden and dry.

It's a long story, the mailbox started life as a plastic box with a spring post in my yard. Then the postman made me move it across the street. The sprint post was set in concrete, but I dug it up and moved it. Then it got run over (must have beaten the crap out of the bottom of the car). So I added cement filled cinder blocks around the post and put in the Amish box.
Wife hated it, made me get a wood post. Couldn't just toss the cement blocks (too heavy), so I just buried the mess and set the 4x4's into it.

What pisses me off is the driver didn't have the gnards to stop. I drove a box truck for years and I know stuff happens but please. A driver of a cab over truck knows when they plow onto something. Ill fix it and move on and put my trust in Karma, she a bitch.

Your Cowboys did my Redskins a favor by beating the Buccs. My office mate is a ravenous Cowboy fan, it's a wonder we get along as well as we do!

That does put a kybash in one's plans.
Mine Is a 6x6 post with about 6 bags of concrete. Should really mess up an alignment to a vehicle whenever.
Not long ago neighbors kid across street ran our fence down.
    How do I know?
Tire tracks went from my fence thru his front yard. I called him over for a looksie and showed him tire tracks don't lie man.
He Said sorry. Made the boy apologize and dad handed me a Franklin.

Reminds me of mailbox incident #4. Young kid rings the doorbell, said he just saw a red Dodge truck back into my box and drive away. I thank him and call the sheriff. Strangely enough, a red Dodge Ram with dented tailgate drives out of my subdivision and right by a sheriff. So, now I have a sheriff and cute young girl at my door. She is terribly sorry and offers to come and fix it. The angel on my left shoulder says let her go with a warning. Devil on my right shoulder hopes she will come back when wife isn't home (and I can help her set the post).
I decide to let her fix the mailbox, and she never came back. Nowadays I ask myself WWJD (What would Jesse do)

Went on vacation one year when the folks across the street were getting ready to move.... they had lived there 8 years, I guess and had never hit my mail box. Come back and the post is tilted and the box smashed to h#!!. I think one of the contractors/workers backed into it and then smashed the box because it dented their vehicle. Didn't see it, so couldn't blame anyone. Then two of my neighbors said "I thought it looked different"
