    Or not at all…
Someone messed up while I was out. Installed add on software to something I use every day. Now my computer is completely screwed up. As of right now I’m dead in the water.

got wings the other nite. i eat bone-in but wife likes the boneless(high end chicken nuggets). crazy expensive. so did alittle goggling. total cost. @$4 for 28. two boneless chicken breast, cut into cubes,50/50 flour and cornstarch. put in a zip bag and shake to coat. fry on stovetop 6-8 minutes. till starting to brown. light crispy out side. tender on inside. toss in buffalo sauce and some minched garlicIMG_3260.jpg

Of course. He didn’t install it but he was aware of it and deliberately left me out of the loop
Also decided that it was fine to allow the 3rd party company to do all of this without informing the main tech support software developer that this is tied to

This sounds about as "WTF are you thinking????" as some of the scenarios I ran into with my recent employer. We would get P1 (highest priority) major outages, and then at least half of the time, root cause turned out to be a piece of hardware (computer, network device) that was so old, it was not only not under any support contract, but the manufacturer won't support it any longer for any amount of money. I almost fell out of my chair one time when the data center manager for one fo the most critical corporate data centers said (after a major electrical outage due to a failing building UPS) "Oh, this UPS is over 30 years old. The manufacturer doesn't make parts or stock parts for it. Every time it crashes, we have to search eBay for new parts". And this is a global, multi billion dollar company.........:bananadead:

The company acknowledges they have massive "technology debt". The Vice President that laid me off two weeks ago literally told me "You know all the technology refresh projects we have planned for next year. Well, your position is being eliminated so we can use those funds to pay for those activities." Gee, thanks. That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.......

    LOL yep.

The management chain that originally hired me, all left the company within 6 months after I came onboard. About this time last year, a new Vice President for IT was hired, and my "temporary" manager was made my team's permanent manager, and reported to this new VP. He also inherited this "technology debt" nightmare. And he's the one who scheduled my "you don't work here anymore" meeting, instead fo my actual manager. So I'm pretty sure he looked around at his small pool of employees, and decided to get rid of those of us who were making "too much money", so he would look good to the CEO and top level people who will fund all the technology refresh efforts. Out of around 100 people that report to this VP, he dumped about 10 of us. Me, a close "team mate" of mine who reported to the same manager and had been with the company for 34 years, and a Director (just below VP level) [both of whom I knew personally], as well as a few others.

I have spoken with all 5 of my team mates since I got let go, everyone of them told me my manager was pissed that he let me go. Probably didn't even consult her, just gave her the word that he canned me.
