Good morning everybody! I bought a few Reese’s pumpkins but didn’t make it home in time for Halloween darn!!

 

I would like to go home now

 

I like the crowd that doesn’t take it too seriously some of this fly fishing crowd are a little stiff!

 

I know I’m going to have to talk to my schedulers!

 

The CEO at my recent company probably makes in the 7 figures, for sure, but nothing like the CEO of the company I worked for before them.

I worked for 5 years for a large US Health Insurance company. The company's annual revenue was close to $100B. That CEO salary was well over $30M, and then bonuses, etc.. He had 3 "vacation" homes around the country, and the company paid for very high end business class fiber internet to ALL 4 of his homes, all the time. We monitored those 4 links on our SolarWinds map, and when any of them would go down, we had to call the ISP provider to get the issue fixed, and of course paid for by the company, immediately. Even though he obviously could only be in one of the homes at a time......

 

Frustrating to say the least Tom

 

I almost fell out of my chair when he said that on the MS Teams Meeting/call for the outage. I have worked for technology companies, banking companies, insurance companies, and now manufacturing companies. Every one of them until this most recent (manufacturing) was overly diligent about making sure every piece of equipment was covered by a service / support contract, OS's and applications were always updated to make sure everything is current and fully supported. And funniest thing of all, this most recent company has been in business decades longer than any of my other previous employers .....

Oh well, not my problem any more

cold & beautiful day here today. been hard at it since 6 & just finally made it to the internet.

 

I get home to the threat of get the cat’s heater working or else! And I said with a great deal of charm yes dear I will order the part and get it going in the meantime. What else would you like for me to do?

Yep, one of our CEOs ran us into the ground, almost out of business, made out with 20mil and a 100k/mo for his wife...for life.
