What, I'm supposed to be nice again?

 

Oh, yes. This is my 4th time being out of work since 2010, I have heavily used both Glassdoor and Indeed each time.

What I have found is, they, as well as pretty much every other job search engine (Dice, Monster,...) all use the same database of job listings. However, something I didn't expect at first, and I have found last week this is still true, at least for IT jobs, even if it says "New Listing!" on Indeed/Glassdoor, when you go to the actual company web site to apply, the position was actually posted many weeks ago, and many times is no longer even listed, it has either been filled or canceled.

So, the benefit I get from these job search apps, is merely the names of companies to add to my spreadsheet, and then I keep checking them regularly for current/active job postings.

At the insistence of several friends, I also created a new Linked In profile. I had one for many years, but it did absolutely nothing to help me find a job last time I was searching in 2015/16, so I got tired of it and deleted it. From what I have sen so far, it looks about the same as it was then. It may be a great resource to find a job if you know how to use it, but I don't know any way to use LinkedIn other than just browse the Jobs section, which seems to use the dame database as Indeed/Glassdoor.

Back from the Torture chamber !!!

Tried a new balance / coordination exercise during my session today . Try walking heel to toe in a straight line , then as you step forward lift your arm up when the opposite leg moves forward . All I heard from my PT was stop or try again !!! . If she didn't have that velcro strap around my waist I would have fallen

Well, that didn't work.... took Giz to the vet to get spayed today.... their power went out (someone took out a power pole), so no surgery and try again tomorrow Vet office is across from an elementary school and entitled driver he turned in the open lane (other one full of folks waiting to get to the school) and blocked traffic so his entitled a$$ could cut the line and then cut off folks that had been waiting patiently to get in.

She was born with a defect her skull didn’t properly form and there was a gap. Allowing fluid to build up maybe if we were involved earlier who knows. We win more than we lose but sometimes there’s nothing you can do. You just pick yourself up and try again next time.

 

I follow a horse rescue group and they picked up 2 today (former Amish carriage horses if that tells you anything) and the one made the trip ok and the other one went down and they couldn't save him. They tried everything they knew to do (several vets helping) and decided it was kinder to just send him over the bridge. At least he knew kindness and compassion his last couple of hours.

 

Oh yes the rescue world are not fans of the Amish. I believe the wife would like to branch off into horses she has mentioned it a couple times. They did a class at best friends last year and while they were there she enjoyed helping with the horses more than any other part. Put up fence has not popped up on my list yet but I won’t be shocked if it happens.

 

I always thought due to them being religious and all and gods creatures.... assumed they would be kind/nice to them. Since following this group OMG did my eyes get opened. They abuse the snot out of the horses
