didnt miss the point at all. very plainly stated that that part sucks for people who work as servers/hostess/waitstaff.

been there & had that done to.

i dont think it matters whether they were in the military or not. its just bad customer skills.

the extra part i added about being tip-begged to death by non servers would have been better as a separate post.

I don't know if I always tip the difference, but I do always add back the value of what I got for free to the total amount of the bill to determine how much should be tipped. I sat down at the bar next to another single vet during lunch yesterday at Logan's. They got water and ordered their free meal. The food and service was mediocre, they didn't leave a tip. I got a beer and a free burger, I left what would have a 21% tip on the total value of both. I didn't feel like cooking for dinner so I went back out to Olive Garden for dinner. The service was good, I left her a 30% tip on the value of the total.

Do you have any local friends you can at least bed for a week or two?
I know you have your camper and in an emergency it can work but you need to find a place or at least storage.
    I am very, very, sorry.

That really sucks. Hope you can find a new place quick. You can stay in my barn apartment for a while if you don’t mind the drive.

No, you're right. Totally get it...don't forget the people on the service end that not only get crap pay but have to put up with people's bullshit, management's bullshit and still expected to be courteous, service with a smile and all that. These places that demand the tips on the bill are.just hiding behind the employees. It's nothing to get cash back at the til and put it on the table on the way out the door. We've all made bad decisions that cost a helluva lot more than $25...

    thanks everyone.
i've been mentally preparing myself for an increase in my rent to go with the sale. totally blindsided to know that i've more or less getting evicted.
i've been casually looking at rentals around the state. nothing really jumps out at me but i guess maybe ive been too picky. gonna have to settle for whatever at this point.

There’s a right way, and a wrong way. Unfortunately the new owners choose the wrong way. Best of luck in your search.:fingerscrossed:
