I just saw this. I looked at where he's at and he sure got himself in a pickle. Hopefully the tow truck can get him out without too much fan fare.:fingerscrossed: The folks I wheel with quit going up there a few years ago due to harassment by the federal LEO/Rangers who patrol the area. If they get involved he'll probably get to spend a few minutes standing in front of a judge explaining himself. They have become rather unfriendly to off-roaders.:mudding:

I’m hoping his GPS mark us off just a tad. Looks like he’s close to a trail but not on it

That's what the Rangers were accusing us of doing, without any evidence of us going off trail. They pulled several members of our group over and threatened to charge them with destruction of federal property, just because their trucks were muddy. We had dashcam evidence that we were not off trail, so no one was charged. But it was enough after the issue made the local paper that we quit holding TW meet ups there. The last one was in 2020.

there's a few offroad clubs out here that have kinda of disbanded because the forest service was blaming them for tearing up trails. i'm sure the 200 ATV's and UTV's with locked diffs that travel the trails daily had NOTHING to do with the trail damage, it was all on the 6 jeeps and trucks that drove up there with open diffs twice a summer.

i actually went to a public meeting a few years back, they were thinking about closing down an area i like to go to. still had Runner at the time and I was up that way 3 or 4 times a summer. the folks who were wanting to shut it down blamed people like me for destroying the roads and there are some pastures up there that the fences were getting damaged and the ranchers were fed up having to fix fences all of the time. I got up and spoke. Told them there are two things (or groups of people) that are causing the destruction - first the hunters that go up this time of year and haul heavy campers and horse trailers over the soft muddy snowy roads and create ruts and get stuck or drive in the grass because they cant make the tight corners. and the ATVs and UTVs with locked differentials that purposefully went fast on the corners and chewed up the trails until they made little bowls. Figured they were responsible for the fences too because I've seen tire tracks that were too narrow to be a full size vehicle heading out into nowhere. Kinda felt like Marissa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny while I was going on explaining how differentials worked in vehicles. I ended with if you want to ban 4 wheelers like me then you also need to ban all hunters and ATVs. Of course that went over like a lead balloon because think of all of the fees and taxes the state gets from those people. I think I made my point, couple people came up to me afterwards and told me I made a good case. And the area is still open so maybe I played a small part in that.

    Lively in here tonight!

It was a stay-home-in-bed all-day type of day. The minor sore throat from Sunday has gotten worse, it was on fire last night along with bad asthma attacks. I woke up this AM and knew that I couldn't go to work. I had a 98° temp, a bit warm for me and a negative Covid test. so it's been Theraflu and Mucinex today. I hope that everyone is staying healthy.

I saw that one, they guy didn't want to hear about the option to rent the U-haul Silverado to pull the trailer.

    Good evening everybody :hattip:
Was just a routine follow up from the hemorrhage I had a few months ago. Retina specialist is very pleased with my recovery. No injection on the last visit 6 weeks ago because everything was looking good. Still no swelling or edema today, so no injection today  Another follow up scheduled for 10 weeks out.
