    Morning all

Kid had to get up early for jury duty...they called him in on the last day...so of course I had to wake up early.

This should be the last day of real work.

We have had 3 days of rain. Glad to hear it went southeast

The news makes it sound like southern Cali and Arizona are going to wash away.

We've had a few decent rains in the 10 years we've been here but it's usually only bad for the people that do stupid shit like try to drive cross the washes when they're running. The last one was pretty good so the potential is there but I don't think we'll get there this time.

The Desert regions of Calif and Arizona can't handle massive amounts of rain especially during a El Nino event . The ground just can't handle the run off

This flash flood was not more than 4 miles from my house when I lived in the High Desert of Socal in Hesperia CA . This is the Mohave river basin just below the Big bear mtns after a strong summer T storm

This was a few months ago when Tropical storm Hillary hit , caused major flooding and mudslides

This is Forest falls , Oak Glen and Yucaipa California . Again not very far away from where I used to live

FINALLY got the internet at my old address cut off...jeebus...
tried to cancel online on the 12th. started the process and then got a message that i couldn't do that online and needed to call.
well, life got a little busy and their service hours suck so i haven't had time until today to call
fumble through the automated menu, finally get to talk to a human
told him a wanted to cancel as of the 12th
    cant back date the cancel
then WTF wasnt i able to do this online a week ago when i had the time? other than you wanting to try to sell me on staying?!?!
    i cant say
so no reason other than youre trying to bribe me into keeping my account?
    cant say
ok well cancel it as of the 12th
cant do that, can only cancel today
fine. do you need my new address to send a refund to?
no, we dont refund for early cancellation. you have to pay the full amount through 12/28
what BS. i just went and deleted my CC info since I had autopay set up. dont want them to try to charge me anymore than they already have.

their customer service was horrible at best. last time i had to call because my service kept cutting off i sat on hold for over an hour then 5 minutes into the call with the rep the call disconnected for some reason. had to call back and i was pissed after waiting on hold again.

I understand the problems the rain causes out there, I follow the DV and 395 threads and have friends that live in Apple Valley. Hillary was no joke for the region. I’m more referring to the way the news and Weather Channel sensationalize the rain and describe it like the entire LA and Majove areas are washing into the Pacific or Gulf of California.

Ratings and CYA, people around here complain that they aren’t accurate with snowfall. Where I live we will get 8”, east of me 30 miles in Kalamazoo they’ll get 4”, hard to be accurate. Tell them that there’s a tornado coming and they will be outside looking for it. Trying to get stupid people safe and educated is difficult IMO. I guess it’s better to be over prepared than under.

Yeah, we get the same, never the real issue, only localized.
