    Yep. When I got laid off in October 2023, part of the severance package they gave me was 3 months of continuing healthcare with the employer subsidizing at the same rate they had been when I was an employee. After that, it would be full COBRA, 100% out of my own pocket. The company subsidized coverage for my wife and I (no kids) was $511/month. Effective 1 February 2024, the full COBRA rate would have been $2600/month. Yeah....... ok. My wife has had her own Medicare due to SS Disability for years, so she has coverage that way, and I just don't have any at all for now.
