Good post-Easter candy coma Monday to all. Those in the path of the coming storms/tornadoes this week, stay safe.

 

On that note, you all may have heard the recent story of a pair of young brothers (18 - 22 age range) being attacked by a mountain lion in northern California. one brother died as a result. That attack was just a few miles from where my wife and I lived before we moved to KY 2 years ago. Mountain lion attacks in that area happened every few years, but rarely ever result in a fatality.

Happy Birthday @lynyrd3 !! Good month to be born My sister and I, my two best friends, a cousin, my wife and her brother are all April birthdays.

 

Tom ... stay safe from the severe weather that will be in your area . It's supposed to hit my area around sunrise tomorrow morning and Tornadoes are in the forecast

 

I always think about you, Chuck, whenever we get nasty weather in this general area. Reports I've seen put my town as just at the fringe edge of the heart of the nastiness, so will see what happens over the next few days for sure.

 

Super muggy & cloudy here with occasional downpour.... Got some inside work to do after a short break with the doggos'

 

We have learned not to go out at dawn or dusk in the mountains. But this was mid day. Yikes

 

Takin another break. Did some sledge hammering of cinderblocks, then cleaned up all the pieces...

Yeesh the days when I could do this all day long with only a lunch break are gone. 10 mins of swing a little 8lb hammer & 20 mins of clean up. Back said : DONE.

Good news is the Vac Truck guy did finally give me a date & price ! Friday the 12th!

 

About 45 yrs ago i had a Mtn lion encounter while backpacking in the Ansel Adam's wilderness area of the Eastern Sierra Nevada mtns . Was hiking from Shadow lake towards Ediza lake and kept hearing like something was following me from a ridge just above the trail . It sounded like mtn lion was following me . So i started making loud noises to try and scare it and and it worked . A few miles later down the trail I stopped at a fallen tree near the trail to drink some water . I then look around and see paw prints in the dirt that were definitely from a mtn lion

 

We have always seen prints, scat and small bones. Never saw them but I am sure they saw us.
