A close friend sent me this a few days ago.. apparently a FedEx driver noticed this when making a delivery then called the cops. Turns out that the house is owned by a couple that have a movie prop business, they were tired of delivery drivers peering into their home so they decided to prank them. Poe-poe wasn't amused.... although my friend did say 'at least there's no paperwork '

I had a really weird thing happen yesterday. As I was backing into the driveway after work, I noticed what looked like the headlights glowing on the 4runner.. I got out and sure enough they were on but getting dim. I ran inside, got the keys and started it up. It cranked slowly but it did start. The lenses were warm to the touch, so they were on for a while. The stalk switch was off, the doors were all locked. I didn't get a response to turning the stalk switch on or off, although high beams did work. I unplugged the trailer hardness, even though it shouldn't have any effect on anything. After running for about 10 minutes I noticed that the lights were off and then they would turn on and off with the stalk.

I'm baffled. I quick search on the old T4R.o r g site brought up a few instances like that, they were all either- stalk switch went bad or the battery voltage dropped to a point where wonky things happened. The runner has been sitting for a few weeks, but it has done that in the past without issue. I dunno, I will have to get the battery load tested and see what gives.

It was just afib but didn't feel like explaining that to the security guard.
The first attack, I was working in a assisted living home. I had a patient who needed a lift to get from his wheelchair to bed and I started feeling it as I was getting him into bed. Thought I was going to pass out so crawled across the floor to the nurse call light. My coworker thought I was having a heart attack and called 911. Sweating, super light headed, a bit nauseous but no pain. Could not feel my pulse in my wrist. EMS said it was 220!! Asked if I had ever had afib. Didn't know what that was at the time. Transferred by ambulance to a larger hospital and was given adenosine and ended up being cardioverted. Got the shock and sat up and said something to the affect that I was driving a bus. The Nurses and doctor got a kick out of that.
2nd time was in the middle of the night while sleeping. Woke up in afib. Wife drove me to the hospital. Adenosine but don't think I got shocked that time.
3rd time was after a 12 hour shift at work where we rarely got breaks so was dehydrated and tired. Got maybe two blocks from the clinic and went into afib. That was the time I drove to the hospital with the security guard. That time was shock as well and cardiologist decide it was time for an ablation.
In 2022 I woke up with afib, knew what was going on but it died down so I went to work in the ICU. Came back, off to the ER for more adenosine and a shock. Cardiologist wanted a sleep study where they found the sleep apnea and started a cpap.
I am pretty sure I've had short runs (20 seconds) before all that and maybe 1 or 2 after the cpap. But so far nothing requiring a trip to the ER.

Mine is called symptomatic afib as I know when I'm in. Of course my job involves watching heart rates and identifying irregularities so... But I always get light headed and nauseous and can feel my heart flittering and skipping beats. Some folks have non-symptomatic afib and can live with the symptoms not knowing they're in afib.
I am on Lisinopril, carvedilol (Coreg) and 324 mg of baby aspirin. I also was born with a an aortic defect so that plays into things as well.

Non treated afib leaves you with higher chances of stroke and heart attacks as the blood isn't flowing correctly and can pool and clot in the arteries and veins. So keep on it!
    Wish you the best!!

Adorable. How's your other dog get along with him?

My first episode i noticed i was short of breath when getting in to bed.... waa the same way the night before that.... don't know how long i was in afib before that. Got up the next day very short of breath, but went to work and after one of the ladies said i didn't look well, went to urgent care..... told them i was short of breath and they gave me an EKG and the tech left the room and within a minute the doc walked in. Ambulance to the ER.... about a mile away. Finally converted about 1:30 am with drugs. No zapping. Until the last 4 episodes (I've had 14 in the last 6 years) I'd go to the er and they'd give me Cardizem and I'd convert. The 4th one I didn't converted right away and that's the one where they said wait a week and we'll zap you. Now that I have the slow release capsules, and as long as I don't feel bad, I've stayed home and relaxed.

I can feel when I'm in afib and confirm it with my fitbit (if I've been sleeping) or kardia mobile. I usually just get short of breath and feel my heart fluttering and missing beats.

I take eliquis 2x a day. I used to just do aspirin, but after episode # 5, they put me on eliquis.

    Yellowstone..... enjoy

    afternoon gang

Afternoon everybody! We had a storm blow through and now we are sitting here in the dark. But I did get the grass cut and the vehicles under cover before the hail started. So I believe I will take the rest of the day off!

I’m beat. Work party weekend at the yacht club. Pulling 5/8” mooring chain takes its toll on the back. Gotta go back tomorrow too.
