Good Luck with the storm CAM...the weather guessers have us in Southern Maryland getting lots of snow and high wind. Looks like you'll get more snow than us, stay warm.

Just raining so far this morning but it just dropped from 36 to 32* and the frozen stuff is getting closer. Looks like it's going to be an icy mess before it is all over.

Thanks, Jeff... 24 to 30 inches coming my way with winds of 20-40 with gusts up to 55 mph. Hard to shovel snow in those conditions but I refuse to wait until it's over and have to try to shovel 2+ feet (and drifts of 5 feet) all at one time. I hope you get much less and hope your power stays on ! Good luck !

Man, I wish we could get just a good snow. My little girl would love it and it wouldn't be so crippling. They've gotten better with trimming, but around here ice breaks trees and trees break power lines. They have learned some hard lessons.

Office closing at 1:00, latest forecast saying 24-36 inches. I think after two feet of drifting snow, what's another foot ?

Thanks, Marty.. drive home is no issue, now snow yet but should start in about an hour. I live just 3 miles from work so yeah, piece of cake even if there is a little snow on the ground. I have some friends that have an hour commute in the direction the snow is coming from so they are the ones that may have issues.

Haha, deergetr.... glad she enjoyed that one ! :):)

Snow started here in Frederick about 30 minutes ago. Heaviest will be overnight tonight. I'll be setting the alarm every three hours to go out and shovel.

I respect that....good idea CAM but please let someone know your out there. You wouldn't last long in this weather if you slip or otherwise get hurt. Not preaching...just saying.

Thanks... yeah, slipping and falling and knocking yourself out in this weather could be a dicey situation. Looks like my first shift will be around 6:00 at the rate it's coming down. My driveway isn't terribly long, maybe 50 feet. But it's steep and two car garage wide.

You be careful out there too, Jeff !

Thanks CAM,will do.We are supposed to have very high winds, 60mph gusts, so Ill just wait until Sunday when things die down. Luckily I have a short driveway and my Ranger is parked out on the street. If I have to get out, which I would do only in an emergency, Ill roll out the Ranger. It's 2 wd but is bad ass in the snow. I've never been stuck...knocking on wood

Your Ranger is rear-wheel drive ? If so, you must be a bad ass driver. hahaha

LOL... you think the Tacoma would be able to handle 3 feet of snow ? I don't plan to find out. :)

Maybe just lucky... honestly though even with rear wheel drive it plows thru every winter since 1999. My pop always said to have good tires, drive gently and go easy on the clutch and you can drive anywhere. Funny thing is for most of its life I've been driving on the much bitched about BFG Rugged Trails and before that the exploding Firestone Wilderness!

I've mentioned before about my 4 years in northern Japan, average of 220 inches of snow per winter, one winter with well over 300 inches of snow and I drove an older Toyota truck, that was rear wheel drive, for all four winters. I had a short commute since I lived on base but I had a rather large hill to go down and another to go up. I used to shovel the snow from my parking spot into the bed of the truck for weight. Had a few dicey moments but no accidents. :)

I'm the king of dicey moments! Good experience though and I bet that your truck is nicely prepared for winter driving. I just shake my head when I see folks just walk away from their cars like what happened the other night on the capitol beltway. I travel about 9 miles one way to work and I still carry food, water, blankets, a fire starting kit etc.

I actually plan to drive my MINI once the roads get cleared and I don't plan to go anywhere until Monday. My MINI has Bridgestone Blizzaks on it and it's front wheel drive. My truck has 600 miles on it, is freshly washed, and tucked away in the garage. :)

Haha... I do know well enough to not pack down the snow, packed snow turns to something between an ice rink and a banana peel. But I did enjoy the laugh !
