It has cooled off to 103° and inside my garage feels like a oven

This is a pic of my Autometer mechanical temp gauge in my Camaro and it's reading 135° . Four hours ago I drove to the grocery store then parked it back inside my garage and the temp has only dropped 45°

    Good evening, gang.

I've been busy with working until dark when I gets home from work, not much time left to do anything else besides get a shower, toss something reasonably edible down my throat then slither under the sheets and do it again. The company is closed for the 4th and 5th, I only get paid for the 4th, so it seemed ok to skip tomorrow and get more work done on the firewood truck before it gets back to being too hot to be outside. I swear it's like an epidemic in regards to getting anything that's remotely a decent quality replacement auto part these days. The Yota's will always get Yota parts, but the 36 year old firewood truck, it's all from Rockauto or Napa but the "brand name" parts still suck in quality. I've been trying to get the exhaust manifold doughnut gaskets where the Y pipe attaches to the exhaust manifold. 3 times from Napa and still getting the wrong stuff. Vato-zone says they're no longer available. Advance Auto claims they can get the right ones but its a special order and there's o returns, even if they aren't the right ones. I think I will stop off at a muffler shop tomorrow and see what I can find. The truck still isn't ready to start but its getting closer.

I'm still poor no matter which dollars you adjust for inflation!

Lots of talk about the old rigs we've owned, my personal fav was my 72 blazer. It was a body off resto-mod ( before anyone called them Resto-mods) that got used regularly in the PNW woods. I had a '68 clip on it, so it was a 'phantom' car. 8 pt frame mounted cage, custom leaf springs that were uber flexy, 35" stupid swampers, 355 small block with a turbo 400. Yatta yatta yatta.. it worked well and looked decent when I cleaned it up. I drove it from Seattle back to Baltimore and kept it for a few years before letting it go. I knew I'd never have another one like it but I sure got some great memories from building it and going to rod runs with it to bumper deep snow wheeling. I will find a print of it and scan it into a digital file and post it up.

I did some this year with the European currants I have. They are tart, like a cranberry. Made a syrup for pancakes and such.

    Had a interesting afternoon yesterday.

Carol and I went to Longhorn steakhouse after bowling.

I have no problem giving myself a injection anywhere but Carol says it would freak

others out. So, I go to the bathroom. Well, since I went, I took a leak too.

I knew someone else was in there but whatever. So while in the stall I hear a noise

like dropped glasses. Then this voice says oh no, oh no, like it was a expensive pair of glasses.

Not loud, just like “dam, that sucked”.

Then I hear him call for his wife standing outside the door. Quietly.

    I said OH SHIT…

So I get done and walk out of the stall, and here is this bearded guy on the floor looking at me.

    Good size guy.

    So here we go..

Asked if he was ok and if he wanted help up.

So, I go to help him up and he’s not helping. Not trying to sit up, dead weight.

So I said “work with me here”.

Well, not much better but I got him sat up.

I asked him if he wanted to stand and he said yes. So got under his shoulders and picked him up.

SOAB he was heavy. And not helping..

So got him up and leaning against the wall.

All the time he’s saying thank you.

Well, all his movements were slow.

    Something wasn’t adding up.

So then,he finally says he has Parkinson’s….

So I get him to shuffle to the door.

Once outside his wife meets him and they shuffle away.

I don’t think he told her he fell.

    Meantime

Carol is getting worried for Me.

Because I’m in and out all the time.

So she starts looking for someone to go check on me. Lol.

Then she saw me behind the other guy and figured something happened.

No one else was around to help him and no way she could have picked him up.

    Right place, right time.
