well I guess I can add "animal rescue" to my resume...
was out fishing. parked the truck and walked up to where i wanted to start fishing, planned to work my way back to the truck. so i finally find a hole in the willows and downed trees that I can squeeze through and get to the river. i'm just off the highway, just down an embankment less than 20' from the road but hte road is above me. i'm down there maybe 10 minutes and out of hte corner of my eye I see something light brown go cartwheeling down the shoulder of the road as a truck goes by. thought, weird I don't rememebr seeing any garbage or anything on the shoulder when I walked over. But something just told me to go and take a look and see what it was. So I quick collapsed my rod, got my line snagged in the river, yanked on that, lost my leader and my fly, and scrambled up the embankment. as I popped back up on the pavement this little yellow lab comes trotting over. That was her I had seen go flying out of the truck at 50mph. So I called her over and even though she was scared and pretty freaked out, I was too, she came right over to me with her tail wagging and I grabbed her collar. I checked her over quick and then started walking her back towards my truck. The parking area also happened to be where the fire crews were staging some stuff so there was a few people roaming around the area. I get about 75% of the way to my truck and this black ford comes up the road, another yellow lab in the bed. The dog I had got all excited when she saw the truck and the guy stopped on the side of the road. He gets out and puts the tailgate down. I started chewing him out that he wasn't getting his dog back unless he put them both in the cab. He kinda hesitated but finally opened the back door of the truck and I let go of her collar, she jumped right in and the other one right after her. I was yelling so loud the fire crew started to come over to see what the issue was. Dude jumped in the truck and left before they got close enough but I explained what had happened.
Oh, and I lost my bottle of floatant somewhere in the chaos so fishing was over for me for the day. :annoyed:

Good for you I never like to see a dog in the bed. That baby was very lucky it wasn’t hurt.

I hate it too. Worst thing is the farmers that have flatbeds and leave their dogs on there when they're out on busy roads.
She was banged up a little bit but her legs all seemed to be working and even though she was scared she was more than happy to walk with me.

But I lost my floatant! :annoyed: And a brand new fly! :annoyed:

Good evening everyone, the weather was beautiful today so I was able to gets lots done. 3 80# bags of Sakcrete got mixed and put into the hole. It feels good when the math works- I calculated 2.7 bags, all 3 fit in there pretty well. Damn 80# bags seem to get heavier every year..

The Sonotube went a bit oval on me as I back filled it, I don't care and neither will the 6x6 post. Once it gets backfilled no one else will ever know, just don't tell OZ-T.

12' 6x6 in the bed like it's not even a problem. There's just some jobs that a full size truck can do much easier then our Tacos. This old rig is running a bit better each time that I take it for a rip.

I'm not ready for Monday.. it's getting here way too quickly.
