Hard to tell what rpm it went to when he started spraying the nitrous but it looked like the tune was off as it suffered a nasty nitrous backfire

What really struck me as funny was. Wifebeater Tshirt no gloves blue jeans. The only safety equipment that occurred to him was earmuffs while holding a potential hand grenade.

Sounds familiar. My wife is away with her mom until this coming Thursday. I gotta admit it's a lot more work doing double duty though.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Today will likely be nap day at some point. At 0120, I was awoken by a siren flashing past my house. It was followed about 25 seconds later by another. And another. And another. And another. My guess is 4 fire departments in total and water tankers from another 4. Tankers going past the house about every 6 minutes until somewhere around 0430-0500.

See, down the street from me, at the north edge of town, there is an alfalfa mill. They grind alfalfa down and press it into pellets for feed. It appears they had a fire...again. They store many tons of alfalfa on site.

Last time (almost 13 years ago), it took 4 days to put it out. This time, it seems to be just hours...they seem to be mopping up now, hasn't been a tanker past the house in an hour and a half or so. It will be interesting to hear what it was this time. Last time, it was some hay that was baled too green/wet that eventually spontaneously combusted. By the time it was found, it was so hot, they had their hands full trying to get to it. They wound up tearing the building down while the FD sprayed water on it.

    Happy Monday to all.

When my wife and I moved to southeastern Kentucky two years ago, we were hoping to leave behind all the nonsense that goes along with cities and other unfortunate facets of life. Well.... this past Saturday night, about 20 - 25 miles north of us, a nut job decided it was time to play freeway sniper, and opened fire at cars going by. He shot several cars, wounding 5 people directly, thankfully none were killed. He has been identified, and is still at large, hiding in the thick woods in the general area where he shot at cars. This is just north of the town where my wife's parents and brother live (London, KY).

    https://www.wymt.com/2024/09/08/laurel-co-shooting-officials-confirm-details-shooting/

About 3 - 4 weeks back, we had a road rage shooting at a gas station (no one was shot) in our town (Corbin), due to massive road construction all over town, and traffic is just a knotted mess. One car started honking at another, because no one could pull out of the gas station into traffic, due to the roads all being down to one lane each way, and jammed up solid, the drivers got out and started to fight, one pulled a gun and shot into the ground to scare the other driver. As it just so happened, a County Sheriff Deputy was already on scene at the other end of the gas station parking lot to handle a minor fender-bender, also due to the traffic mess. The Deputy responded immediately, and Billy Joe Bob Bubba (passing through from another State) got an all expenses paid vacation to the Laurel County Jail.

    Yee-haw!!

There is no such place as a safe place. The difference between the urban cities and where you/we are now is that unfortunate things happen occasionally, instead of daily. Keep your head on a swivel and be prepped for the unexpected. :hattip:

Absolutely correct. There is no such things as a safe place any longer.

The local Mayor asked for Walmart and other large stores to close shortly after the incident, as I guess he was afraid of the nut job coming into town. I told my wife "shit, I always see people in Walmart open carrying, and other places, too. If this idiot shows his face in public, the Sheriff won't have to go looking for him any longer!

All the local schools decided to close for the day today.

Back at work in A/C so I can recuperate. Weekend warrior! Built a storage shed and tore down the old one on Saturday in the 95 heat wave we are having in Cali. Lost a few screws with all the water dripping in my eyes, but I wasn't attaching the lock so I had spares.
LiquidIV to the rescue in the evening, my head was pounding! I totally enjoy sunshine, and don't mind sweating a bit, but that was overdoing it for sure.

I live in Mt. Washington. Last I heard, we are under 10k. We're 1/2 hour from Louisville. The gangs initiate new members by driving carloads of them to our area, dropping them off after dark, and having them burglarize homes and business',steal cars, and bring the cars back to gang leaders to use in more crimes. Most of the "criminals" are 12,13, 14...yo.
Small town folks still leave doors unlocked...It's just a matter of time before one of these country folk shoot à kid.

lol! That was the LAST tree of 10 that needed to be dropped. I threw a chain and messed up the drive links too badly to fix with a file. The emergency axe from my van is a $20 Harbor Freight special. We have a beautiful Gransfors Bruk felling axe back home… along with the extra 18” chains for the Husqvarna.
