A very good idea. I used to all my own maintenance on my Dodge truck. Still can do oil/lube changes on my Tacoma, but with my back issues, I am limited in what I can do. But I might be able to replace a compressor in the HVAC unit.... I'l check out a couple videos.

:rofl:o_O:rofl:My wife does occasionally go up there, it's her craft room. And whenever we have guests, they sleep up there. In any case, if we ever do sell this place, alll 3 units would need to be in functional state.

Thanks Dan and hope all is well!

Wild Country Maple Products know it well. That is the last stand of Maple trees heading North it turns to boreal forest which is the Worlds largest biome. Being some what close to Lake Superior it is more temperate and warmer there.

I will be straight North of Wild Country on the Canadian border. The only road that shows up on Google is the Gunflint trail although there are lots of other trails and forest roads they are pretty much all 2 tracks

    Wild Country Maple Products.jpg

Canada is all metric and after a week of converting distance, speed, money and even gas I found myself converting everything in my head to "American" gas is pretty spendy up there

Coming back to the US Ft. Francis is the Canadian town across from International Falls and the Ft. Francis sign had population 8000 on it. I immediately thought what is the Canadian population of 8000 in US measurements, oh wait a minute LOL. It is good to be back home and I consider the cabin on the Gunflint home as well.

International Falls has about 5,500 people in it and is often the coldest spot in CONUS as I'm sure you know. Rocky and Bullwinkle lived in Frostbite Falls which is a spin on International Falls. I seen Dudley Do-Right not once but twice when I was up there.

Another option (the one I chose) to save some money mostly on labor, I went to a supply warehouse and bought my own HVAC for cash, then found a tech at one of the local companies willing to do some side work on the weekend for extra cash. I saved about $3K on the lowest estimate I had gotten. I did have to spend the entire summer without A/C to save up the cash, but I had it installed on the first day I needed heat in the house. I found the YT videos on HVAC later when I wanted to service the unit myself. Getting a new compressor or even a used compressor and DIY the install could save you a fortune.

Neighbor across the way( they own two houses) has 8 black Mercedes. They love to park them in front of our house and not in front of their houses. Don't know why. We do some passive aggressive stuff but we also know they can park where ever they want on the street.
We have a large bin coming by and a bobcat to haul off the debris in the front. Landscaper put 2 trash bins to reserve the spot.

Neighbor moved the bin and parked in the middle.

You should put the bin in front and park behind them to block them in.:hattip:

I wear them under pants, never with shorts. Knee socks (especially black socks) with shorts = dorky. :D

Good evening peeps- it was a chilly(ish) soggy day with more on tap for tomorrow and Wednesday. I haven't checked the hole with the deck footer in it, I don't want to know how badly my shower curtain "canopy" is leaking..

Your kitties have it good! I was fixing the tree that my friend has from her past 4 cats.. it's kinda old and beat up but Rugby seems to like it, so I keep fixing it for him. I'd love to have my own little orange buddy but working full time and no time for anything on the weekends wouldn't be very fair to a kitten, as much as I'd love to have that energy running around in the house. I'm tired of being alone.
