I've never gone thru that with a dog. How hard is it on them?

    First for me too.
We only know something was wrong when I noticed her drooling excessively and leaving huge wet stains and puddles everywhere .
Had just washed the blankets and ran them back thru again.
Definitely will be asking for pain meds for her. And she'll be on soft food for however long vet says.

A lady I work live that lives in Wi. just went through this with her pug yesterday, had 10 teeth pulled. Had no idea pugs had 40 teeth! From our emails yesterday:

I didn’t either…so I thought that was pretty interesting. He still has 32 teeth so he’ll be able to eat and do everything normal.

It cost me around $400 to get the 10 teeth pulled, cleaning, anesthesia, pain meds, antibiotics, and all that other stuff.

I did go and buy him a few containers of the soft dog food to hold him over for today/tomorrow and I have some ground venison thawing out, so I will be giving him venison, rice and carrot (shredded) for the rest of his meals. He’s going to be eating like a king!

Sounds like he is doing pretty good today from our emails this morning. And yes the venison is from a deer she shot herself. Her first one she is a younger lady.

Good luck and hope it goes well! Have a friend in SD that took his lab all the way to Denver for what boiled down to basically orthodontic surgery. That was a couple of thousand not counting travel, hotels, etc. These 4 legged friends can get expensive but are worth it.

:hungry: I'm just here for some venison, rice, and carrots. Sounds pretty good to me. ;)

Actually most dogs dentition is 42 teeth. The only ones that really will mess with a dog if removed are the canines . We have had several dogs over the years break or crack a canine they root canal it and either stainless or titanium cap it . We did have one dog for a while who had genetically soft teeth and had all 4 canines capped with titanium teeth. Yes sucked catching him on a sleeve ! LOL

    Thanks.
    Hope all well with yours.
Just dropped her off. Vet said she cracked the outer half and roots are good. Said if we're his dog he'd remove the loose piece and watch it from there.
I said we trust him and his wishes . It's why we've been going to him for 15 years now.
