    glad none of the guys were hurt, they got damn lucky seeing how so many of them were right next to the firetruck.
    yet another thing that too many drivers are clueless about - what to do when when you see 1st responders on the road.
    we've had a few bad incidents around here in recent years. couple of highway patrol cars hit during a simple traffic stop. and a couple years ago a tow truck driver was hit and killed while trying to clean up a wreck. since then a few of the tow companies have purchased signs and new regular pickup trucks to park down the road from the wreck as an early warning - the little orange WRECK AHEAD sign on the shoulder isn't enough anymore. Now they have big lighted signs rigged into the bed of the pick up truck that flash <<< MOVE <<< OVER <<< and they can change the message and arrow direction. I've seen them out once and didn't know what is was at first as all I saw on the sign was the <<<, it was flashing so slowly that I didn't get any more than that. At first I thought iwas a paint crew doing the lines on the road :laugh: I called the tow company when I got home and told them that I love the new sign but they need to speed up the message so folks see more than one screen as they drive by.
