Wife sent me back to the HonorHealth Quack-Shack, Doc-In-A-Box, Local Medicine Man & Voodoo Priest (Urgent Care) yesterday. I was content to suck it up and man baby this thing out but she was right and did a good thing. Turns out secondary sinus infection and strep. You'd think I was collecting disease like Pokemon out there.

Steroids and Antibiotics - now I'm super wired and sweating like a wh*re in Sunday School.

that sounds like a bunch of crap. i would keep fighting it. i know every state has different rules but my dad always managed to get unemployment whenever the contracts ran out for the union guys. and he filed in MT, ID, WY and MN without any issues. actually...do you know any union guys? they know how to work the system, get them to help you sort it out.

Acting like a youngin. Cancelled the home phone service - too many telemarketers. Just cell phones now. Welcome me to the 21st century.

We’ve been landline less for years. Our daughter kept saying we were dinosaurs. Her house now is almost completely a “ smart house “ , drives me crazy when we visit. I think maybe I am a dinosaur, I still use cash, and write checks

When we bought the Audi, I started writing out a check for the deposit. The salesman stopped me and asked for a card. They don’t take personal checks anymore.

Curious as to why she would lose her benefits and retirement? My wife is a union nurse and unfortunately our manager has started trying to get us to leave.

i gave up on a landline years ago because it was only telemarketers and debt collection agencies calling - not for me but I was listed in the phonebook with just my first initial so I got a lot of calls thinking I was someone else. my favorite was that some vet/ranch had either a similar number to mine or their's was misprinted somewhere and i would get wrong number calls, people asking if i could board their horse(s) for certain dates. one lady kept calling repeatedly and was always in the middle of the day while i was at work so she would just leave these increasingly aggressive messages. i was home sick one day when whe happened to call and she let into me about how rude it was of me not to return her calls and how did i manage a business if i never answered the phone or returned calls, blah blah. I let her get that out of her system and then explained to her that she had the wrong number and needed to stop calling me. And she should probably double check that she is calling the right number before being so GD rude to people. And by the way I lived in a 2nd floor rented apartment in the middle of town with no yard and my lease had a no pets clause so no, i was not able to board her horses. She was pretty much speechless when I got done with her.

oh, and i use cash at small businesses - like the quilt shops i frequent - they get hammered with the credit cards fees and are usually quite happy to deal in cash.

Much of it was a scare tactic. We reached out to the Union lawyer who reiterated that he would fight this on our behalf and we would win but there was a risk. We would not lose OUR contribution to the 403b (old 401k) but we would lose all accumulated sick and vacation time and would have to leave the Valley/UW system if we fought this. Most of my specialists are in the system and to find docs who specialize in my autoimmune disease has been a difficult task. Plus my wife is tired. It’s been two years where we have evidence of age discrimination and the creation of a hostile work environment. It’s taken a toll on her and she wants to be done. She has interviews on the 3rd for two health tech (school nurse) positions at a couple of elementary schools in my district. It’s half of what she is making but the benefits are great and she would have summer off along with winter, mid winter, and spring breaks. Good luck. I’m sorry your wife is going through this. You’ll be in our thoughts and prayers

Umm... hate to tell you but the telemarketers moved to cell a long time ago! I wish the cell companies would honor their "spam blocking" . They have the tech and shouldn't be charging more to do it.

Oh yes, they found me there too. At least I have a spam blocker app that, at a minimum, tags the incoming call as spam so I don’t answer it.
