Yeah I know most of the Owen's Valley is a Super Volcano , why would they name part of it Long Valley Caldera

Can't be as bad or worse to where I'm living now which is directly on top of the San Andreas fault

I'm hoping! As long as the weather stays cool and cloudy the water will stay in the dirt and I can grade miles of road without needing a water truck.

 

If we're under a winter weather advisory this storm is going to give yo plenty of mud there

 

...and I get to have all the visitor traffic do the compaction for me!

The clay content is very low here and the drainage is really good so it doesn't get messy. There's enough berm on the roads to pull in to fill in any ruts. Lots of clean silt and gravel/rock. We don't get mud like you guys do. I have to have good road material trucked in wherever I build it up. But this is perfect conditions to grade the native material.

I'm sorry....I wouldn't wish Bakersfield on anyone. It's redeeming quality is it's access to the high country to the east of it.

rt now they have her serving in the welthy section she says it;s very nice there and hopes to stay a while but they get moved every few months. she will undoubtedly get moved to the rougher section when it starts to get crowded with migrant workers.

Most of the work is out here right now. We have awesome conditions in winter for almost all the major produce so our big influx of field workers is in full swing right now. When they start planting hay and cotton is when they swing back over to the California valleys and that's not for a good couple months. But if the US oilfields crank back up she may see an influx of oilfield crews. There's quite a few wells there.
