Moving on from dumbshit to serious shit.

    2016 DC SB

main (engine?) air filter. (As opposed to the cabin air filter behind the glove box. -well revisit this one in a moment…)

there’s in and out holes. Which is which? Which way is the air flowing? (Left side is side panel, right is towards the engine)

    IMG_7776.jpg

where is the intake for this filter? Is there any way to cover it with some type of hardware cloth? You know… to maybe prevent rodent intrusion? o_O

why? You ask… oooohhh maybe this is the cabin air filter… and the engine filter is the source of the bedding fluff :angrygirl:

    Hi Cuffs.

The air for the intake box would flow left (intake duct at the inner fender area) on the bottom side of the filter to right ( Towards the MAF then throttle body)

The rodent "fluff" looks like it might be from the hood insulation or interior carpet insulation?

thank you! Very helpful. I need to try to locate the main place the air comes in?
The fluff def came from the big air filter (I’ll get a pic of it later) the little fkrs left evidence of their presence in that big air filter box :annoyed:

hoping to maybe put some sort of hardware cloth over it? I dunno. any ideas?

Yup. Found a dead mouse in there too this summer. Don’t even want to think how long I’d been breathing in mouse juices before I checked and changed the filter

Maybe sumthin' like this? You could remove the air box housing and see a hole in the side of the fender or wheel well where the intake tube is located, but if you gets some of the critter screen you could just cut out a piece and lay it on the bottom of the airbox then put the filter on top, that way it's removable and you will get some pleasure in knowing that f-n rodent wasted its time and energy climbing up through the air intake tube, only to get blocked by the screen.

Ginger (taco) has been taking a rest while we drive the shit out of the cooper (since we’re going to sell it and I don’t like that car anyways…)

took Ginger to store just to stretch her legs the other day. Turned on heat/fan and heard the rush of detritus blowing around. Shut it off. Drove home cold. Discovered the shit mess today ‍♀️

    @Cuffs

Engine intake won't be the source for the cabin filter, it's under the cowl in the engine bay almost directly above the cabin filter. Ask me how I know.

anyone else been ice fishing? o_O

I made a thing yesterday for brunch.. I had some bread dough already made up when I decided to use some for a brunch pizza. I didn't want any salami or pepperoni, so I improvised and stumbled upon the "perfect" pizza topping, corned beef hash and potatoes! Hormel to the rescue..

On a side note, it was discovered that Rugby likes the coned beef hash and potatoes. I gave him about 2 bites to enjoy, it's very salty so it probably isn't the best thing for him.

The orange freak show at Christmas, the box with the bubble wrap inside became his newest annexed territory.

Hard to say, on one hand the fire close to me is no longer a threat, on the other hand the winds have kicked back up and 2 more fires started.

A little of this and a little of that.
    :hattip:Good morning

The past few threads are a good reminder that I need to check the M-I-L’s car for rodent evidence. It sits in her garage for weeks at a time between drives.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.
