The emotional drain must be crushing. Don't worry about her boss/co-workers...they have eyes & ears, they'll figure it out. As Paul @vssman said, talk to a therapist. Don't blame yourself.

Glad you know it’s not your fault, and this disease in her mind is a horrible thing. Hang in there and find a good therapist you can talk with…it’ll help.

Bit of a rough day. Had another go round with mother and her gaslighting. Basically she wants to cut back on the aides and expects me and my sister to fill in. The discussion turned rather ugly. So that kicked the mood right in the arse and turned up the anxiety sky high. I was packing to go to the Cape for a few weeks but question if I should even go. I’ll be alone for several days until my sister shows up mid next week. I suppose I should go as MermAndy is already in the car and I don’t want to disappoint. Both my wife and daughter are out this evening so I have no one to bitch to. I swear it’s a conspiracy!

That’s the thing. It really is how she is. My parents were abusive; both physical and emotional. My oldest sister had he nose broken by my father. He also broke a guitar over her back. I was more emotionally manipulated. My father once shot the nail gun at my feet when I was 11. Talk about being frightened. He laughed. Mom was self centered and drove some of the abuse that my father would do. When you’re a young teen and hear your parents tell you “You’ll never amount to anything” sticks with you.

F&@$ , that’s a lot to process! I assumed it was an old age/ dementia thing. Remember you have to take care of you first and foremost.

Another sleepless night, I got about 3 hrs and woke up. I'm sore from moving and cutting up more logs, I thought that I'd sleep well tonight.

Very scenic! Are you enjoying Idaho? I've never had to deal with de-pooing, are the dump stations marked on road maps or something like that?
