    Good morning everyone.
There's an outdoor arts/crafts festival that was on the schedule for today, but the skies have decided to leak all over the place. It's time to come up with a plan 'B'.

I got a few suprise texts w/pics from my brother, apparently he is in Florence and Rome for a vacation. Some of the chapels in the pics are amazing.

That's a nice piece of equipment! I'm guessing it's a CH53 variant? It looks alot like the Sea Stallion that my service used.

Good morning. Cloudy today with some showers later. It’s been raining every Saturday in southern New England since mid April. The Belmont stakes are on this afternoon. I have to figure out what’s for dinner later.

That looks alot like a CH53 Super Stallion that the US Marine Corps use . When I was stationed at MCAS El Toro there was a few squadrons that flew them . When I lived up in the High Desert of Socal I watched many of them fly over my house heading towards MAGCC 29 Palms

    Good morning everybody.

It’s going to be a busy day for me, first up it’s doggie park day for my fur baby Hoozier. He knows without a doubt when Saturday morning is lol.

After this me and my buddy Mike are headed over to Mobile, AL to go to the USS Alabama battleship. This weekend, as part of the D-Day remembrance celebrations, the ship is taking part in a ham radio event known as Museum Ships on the Air. This is an event where ham radio clubs go to the old battleships (and a few other type of ships) that have been converted to museums and do a radio activation over the amateur radio bands. There are over 100 ships taking part in this over the weekend.

The Mobile, AL ham radio club is doing this activation. Mike and I are both ham radio operators and members of our local club and are going over to assist for a while. I’m not sure if any of the original radio equipment still works but it’s going to be a fun time being nerds and talking on a radio from a battleship!

    Have a great day everybody!

I need to dig through some of the pictures at moms I’m pretty sure we have a picture of me in a stroller next to a F4. The old man would probably get locked up today but back in the early 70s he would call mom and tell her to get me ready. He would swing by our house pick me up when he was working nights and take me to the maintenance shack with him at moody. He was stationed there after his second tour and right before he retired. I can vaguely remember sitting in a tweety and they had another trainer there that I just remember as white. Looked a little like your F5 but I don’t know.

F5 is the single place cockpit of the T38 trainer... basically the same airframe just a little longer..

Our F5 is s different breed, it is the NASA sonic boom testing F5, DARPA aircraft. in the late 60s early 70s Dad placed me in an OA37B DragonFly or SuperTweet which was the attack version of T37 but MUCH louder with the J85 engines. Since then I have had the uncontrollable desire to own one of those, if I could just find that airframe and win the lotto I'd be good. I'm not holding my breath!!

The Marconi Museum is just around the corner from me. The facility was a big ship to shore radio station at one time. They do field day there. https://www.chathammarconi.org/

I remember back in the early 1980's and to be exact it was 1983 . My old duty station while I was in the Marines , 3RD MAW MCAS El Toro recieved new FA/18A Hornets that were to replace the aging F4 Phantoms

One of the squadrons to recieve the newer F/18's the CO challenged another squadrons CO that had F4 Phantoms . They decided to perform a impromptu Dog fight over the base . My duty section / shop was very close to the air field and got a awesome view of this mock dog fight . The F4 Phantom being a much older aircraft still showed it still a good aircraft
