Just for reference It didn’t stop there…The oldest may be holding it but the youngest hooked it and was reeling it in until I grabbed the rod away from him. 100_9657.jpg

Oh wow! Same except Tuesday afternoon. Missed 2 days of work. Thought I was a wimp. Finally starting to feel better this afternoon. Follow-up shot is 2-6 months later I thought.

Good evening. This is my Friday night, I'm going to a model train show tomorrow in Harrisburg, PA. It's a bitter sweet ordeal, as the guy who started the show passed away earlier this year so the church where the shows were held decided to host this last one. It's 'O' scale ( 1:48 scale) narrow gauge, not what I'm collecting but the model making/scenery and general friendly atmosphere is very nice, as people will freely share their techniques for making scenery, how to paint brass locomotives with the crappy paints that are available these days, ect..

dinner tonight. I forgot how good a grilled hotdog tastes, I've been boiling them for too long.

Lot's of good old fashion yellow mustard on the dogs!

The change of faith seemed to have worked out well for you, it appears that Xerox treated you well and you enjoyed a good life. I worked aerospace tool and die for about 10 years before becoming too sensitized to the chemicals used in the machine shop and assembly areas. I thought that the degree in mechanical design could benefit from the practical shop experience, I was wrong. Horribly wrong.

I was diagnosed with Meniere’s 2 years ago. Lost most of my hearing in my right ear. We were renting to a chiropractor student and she said said come see my chiropractor. He explains chiro started when a janitor lost his hearing and the doc decided to start treating him a different way. Long story, inflammation in the upper spine was blocking nerves to the ears. Mine cleared up in less than 2 weeks and haven't had an issue since. The hearing doc tried to put me on meds that were causing cramps in muscles I didn't know I had! Something to look into.

Good morning everybody :hattip: It has been a busy week for me. My son was voluntold to attend some training at work over what should have been his days off so my wife and I babysat the grandkids Monday-Thursday. It’s not hard work but holy cow do twin 2 year olds wear you out! I’m taking a zero day today!

Have a great Friday (the 13th)

3000 miles into the trip. Arrived in Waxhaw NC Wednesday night. Staying with my brother and his brood until Sunday morning. Then off to Kitty Hawk and OBX.
First night I stayed in a campground on the idaho wyoming line near Alpine WY. Started setting up and when I walked up to pay (NFS campground) realized I chose a double site which explains why it was $40. Saw that the site next to the host was open and was $20. Figured would be quiet spot maybe an older coue who might invite me over etc. Nope. 2 large not well trained dogs. Barking and yelling at the dogs. LED lighting on all night. Was too tired to move so put my ear plugs in and slept. My dad and step-mom were campground hosts and never had issues with them before. Oh well.
Spent 2 nights in Colorado, a day of training with Rawhyde Adventures. Then rode just under 800 miles to get to Cedar Rapids Iowa to see my dad. Started on street tires and swapped in Colorado to offroad tires. Thought I stripped a bolt trying to get the front tire off. Fortunately I had planned ahead and just in case had chosen a hotel that backed up to a motorcycle shop. They had the bolt out in 5 minutes and swapped the tires for me. Rode the offroad tires to CR to find my dad's compressor doesnt work. And my portable died. Yep it worked fine before I left. Heck of a time finding a gas station that has a rubber hose that will fit in the spokes on my tires. Everything is those straight metal attachments now. Head to the shop. They want $200!!! :spending::annoyed:to mount and balance 2 tires. That were off the bike. Maybe 20 minutes of work. Said screw it will ride the offroad tires and buy new tires sooner than I want to. Left the street tires at my dad's. More room to move around on the bike. Havent taken a lot of pics yet as I have been on the move. Best part was 3rd day works texts me and asks if I would be interested in picking up a night shift!! Didn't even bother replying.

Then I get on here and holy schmoley Batman.
Keep your heads up. Positive thoughts, energy and good luck to everyone. Still catching up so several more pages to read .

I believe I’m packed but I’m thinking about unpacking and pairing down some things. There’s a lot of unknowns in this one I had shot a text to Budge’s and asked what to expect. The answer high in the 60s lows in the 40s possibility of freezing temperatures bring layers and rain gear just in case. Then it dawned on me I had totally whiffed on rain gear o_O I ran to rei yesterday and got some decent rain gear :goingcrazy: So I have something for summer to winter (SC winter ) and rain gear. Good thing I’m going alone there’s no room for anything else.

    Morning all
The tool and die makers I was talking to were all out of a job. They had to become contract employees, working for 6 months at a time. It was a crowded field suddenly and I would be competing with people that had years experience. Xerox offered a decent wage and benifits and, at the time, very steady employment.

    Awesome story :)

Several months, maybe a year ago, I shared a little about the summer of 1978 when my family drove from Los Angeles to Anchorage, Alaska. My dad had a fall Moose hunt booked, and so we made one of our "once in a while" family vacations out of it. We stayed for a month (July-August) with friends of my Dad's in Anchorage. During that time, his friends let us stay at their cabin down on the Kenai River for a week. We spent I'm sure every day salmon fishing. My sister, 9 years old (and pictured here with me and my Dad), actually caught the biggest fish. My Mom labeled it "Tom's catch", but it was my sister that caught that beauty. And yes, I am wearing a Star Wars sweatshirt, because duh.... Star Wars! My Mom, sister and I stood in the around the block lines to see the original at our local theater the weekend it came out.
