Second one is worse than the 1st for sure. But much better than shingles for sure.

Been out for a while. Contacts caused ulcers on BOTH eyes that became suddenly painful 150 miles from home Sunday. I spent 3 days with my eyes closed, and now I'm struggling with my glasses that neither the main nor bifocal area are correct for viewing my computer screen. Dr. told me at least 2 weeks before contacts again, and I need to go see the optometrist to check on fitment. Burning pain any time the eye moves, lids open/close. Light sensitivity too.

    It sucks getting old-er!

They are extended, but I take them out every night. Ophthalmologist says they are "cupping" the bottom of my cornea. It was just about a year ago I had a single eye go out while visiting Portland. Road home from there with my eyes closed too.
Not sure, other than Murphy, why they keep having this sudden painful event in July when not home.

    Mmmmmm
Well, every time you take them in and out there is an infection chance.
You may be having a reaction to the solution you keep cleaning them with.
I would look at the type you are using and make sure they are good oxygen providing ones.
Cupping seems to me that the lenses are to stiff for you and they are changing the shape of your eyeball.
I would go 5 days. I Developed Bell’s palsy and I never used them again. I know they don’t cause the condition but I got skeered.
I would rather be called “4 eyes” then lose my sight.
