    Good Morning to all.

I have been having some seriously unpleasant muscle / nerve pain in both legs for a couple months, and a trip to my local Emergency Room in mid June due to a massively pulled muscle (could not get up off the toilet, I think I shared that story). The ER did a CT scan, and confirmed my diagnosis from 2013 that I [still have] osteoarthritis in my right hip. The ER referred me to an Orthopedic surgeon, I went to see him yesterday. He did X-Rays in addition to the CT scan from the hospital. After my litany of all the various surgeries I have had ~11 years ago, and my current symptoms, he did a physical exam, and basically toms me that yes, my right hip is indeed ready for a replacement. I asked if it was a candidate for a "resurfacing" procedure, as I had sone on the left hip in 2014, rather than the more invasive traditional total hip joint replacement. His response was essentially "We don't do the resurfacing anymore, as too many were having problems with the metal corroding and flaking off into the surrounding tissues. If you haven't had any issues with yours, you got one of the good units. So the hip joint units used today are ceramic, much harder and durable than the older metal ones, they last a lot longer, you should get 25 years out of it."

I always knew the day would come when the right hip would need surgery, the surgeon in 2014 estimated it would be about 2-3 years after the left one. Well, I got 11 years, so that's comforting. What is a little nerve wracking, is that if I outlive the [new] hip joint, they can't replace it..... so the only option is leg amputation. At least in today's world of medicine. Hopefully if I make it that long, something newer and better will come along to replace the hip joint if/when needed. And supposedly, the resurfacing procedure on my left hip was estimated to last about 20 years, and then, according to that surgeon, I would need a full joint replacement on the left hip, as well.

Argh! Naturally this all happens when my wife and I need to pack up and move :annoyed::facepalm:Life goes on..... And still no job. I had a potentially promising interview a couple weeks ago with an HR person. The hiring Manager was out on Paternity Leave at that time, so hopefully I will at least get to interview with him in the near future, when he returns to work.

My wife was supposed to be hiking the peak with the same name nearby but her hiking partner got sick. Did you get caught in all the rain? We ended up going to Missoula for the day and looking at guns. Found one I REALLY liked for hunting. Now if someone would just GIVE me $5000 to buy it! :spending:

Hmmm, the "Privateers " came from England, Spain and France. Canukistan was connected to France.. Montreal being a French speaking city...

Me tinks that you'd be on the way to see the Château de Chaumont.
