Finally had a chance to have a mechanic look at my truck yesterday to find out what's going on with it

The mechanic found the Aftermarket performance ECU / piggy back controller Is bad causing to much fuel into the engine . This ECU and Piggy back controller needs to be replaced and that's going to be expensive

Thanks Chuck I’m going to have to look the yard over and find out what has hair on it. It’s always something.

I’m getting ready for my daily pilgrimage to New Haven. I don’t have the desire to go but I guess I have no choice in the matter. It’s an hour(ish) ride. The first half hour is nice countryside. The second half is city with 20 year old Acuras with black window tint and dents cutting in and out and running red lights. Don’t honk or engage as they might pull a piece.

So what does the group think if I take MermAndy with me for a treatment! He could be my emotional support pillow. I wonder what the doctor would think…

I'm clueless on on ECU Pigggy back controllers as I know alot more about carburetors . I don't know what I need to replace or do I need a piggy back controller

The old ECU and Piggy back controller are 20 years ago and mfg'd by Uni Chip

    Morning all

You had to deal with the dog, then come home and do 'the cleansing'? Wow, that's impressive.
Can MermAndy get the treatments? Or at least push a button?

I have a couple of Kershaws already but they’re a litttle big and heavy. Just want something a little lighter for gutting fish.

    Thanks !!!!!

This repair shop specializes in older Toyota's but has no clue or idea about this TRD supercharger especially the ECU Piggy back controller . He even told me there's no paperwork or website available to order parts as it is 20years old

I asked him why not use a newer modern ECU Piggy back controller and get tune and download load the tune into the ECU and he told me that won't work

Ah, I forgot you have a supercharger on your truck. That likely ads an extra layer of complication onto which EDU would work, as it would have to take into account the specific operational parameters for that supercharger. By "TRD Supercharger" do you mean it is an actual Toyota part? Or just that it was made for TRD engines? I'd look to see if the supercharger manufacturer is still in business, and if you can get a response from them, see what they might suggest. Do they have, or know where to get an appropriate ECU? Or do they know if any newer ECUs may be compatible.

Yes the TRD supercharger was a Dealer install option and the Supercharger was a Eaton M62 supercharger made to fit the 2 .7 litre 4 cyl . The Supercharger actually had a TRD logo on the supercharger case. The TRD supercharger was only available for a few years . The Supercharger on my truck was installed by a Toyota dealer in 2004-05

The TRD supercharger " Eaton M62" is no longer in production

    Here's a pic ...
