Started getting the AARP junk mail at 49, so I knew I was close.

 

Nice work,
I was lucky enough to attend Philmont back in 99 with my oldest and a group of other scouts.
Base at about 7K and Mt Philips It was 11,741'.
80 mile backpack total in 10 days counting the first day at basecamp.
Great fun and glad I did it!!!
Congrats that kind of elevation is real hard on you for sure.

Nice, I am leading the boys up to Philmont next summer, I think they want to do the 105 mile route

Nice work guys. Getting back in shape is a hard thing to do. I need to get on the elliptical machine this winter and kick some butt cause the last 5 years my butt is the one that's been getting kicked.

 

I need to get back in shape I'd love to get an elliptical but those things are huge and I don't have room for one...

 

I have been using a recumbant bike for the last 3 years, easier on old arthritic joints.
Started doing basic weight training on the machines at the gym back in March also now that I have the weight down and feel much better.

It sucks but you will feel better in the long run.

good luck with that... lol. 90% of the time i did it in advisor (homeroom, what ever you all called it) we had it before all our classes.




and if my dad was here he would say you all are young. he turned 62 september 28th and last day of work was the 30th.

 

After 40 years so far twisting wrenches 56 feels like 76 some days.
I hope he enjoys his retirement to the max.

 

Hello fellow future old geezers, glad I stumbled onto this thread. I'm a 1955 model myself, some days feel like I'm 75 other days (way to few) feel like 20. Can't feel like 19, WAY too much scar tissue.
