Sorry I'm not 50, but dang I had to stop by and see all the boots. Love the first set and the cap toes. A military style captoe will always be my favorite over dress shoes any day.

Any boot recommendations for someone who like really lightweight and low profile boots? I know that's not your style by these and your comments, but you seem to know your boots! Dang ha.

For those with cheaper tastes I just got my first pair of cheapo Clark's Originals desert boots and they're a solid all arounder for casual to casual-dress.

Chaz don't care if you aren't 50. You understand the beauty of Pentax lenses and are one of the few on here that do, or any place for that matter. And B&W, etc. You have an eye, just saying...

Bought a pair of Clark's shoes in England back in the late 80's when we pulled in there. Wanted to get a Barbour coat until a lady I met in a pub said oh a Clit coat. I was a bit taken back and asked a clit coat? She said yes ever cun% has one. I ended with a pair of Clarks. She did take me to a creek for fly fishing at the birth place of fly fishing, and I gave her the fish that I caught. She invited me back to her flat but I was married at the time and declined. The Clarks didn't last long.

What you are talking about is a Desert Boot. They come in structured and unstructured. Original Desert Boots were unstructured and replaced yearly. A solid solid structured desert boot is hard to find. Once again I found mine with Allen Edmonds.

The Katmai is no longer offered by Allen Edmonds. But IMO was one of the best structured desert boots. I would go out and try as many as you can to see what works for your foot. Good luck!

I love desert boots! (Might be what's left of the Marine Corps in me) I just have this thing with super heavy footwear haha. Most of my shoes are well under a pound, some at that weight for the pair, and I only like about a 4mm drop and small stack height. So as much as I love boots, they don't make many without big clonking heels and whatnot.

I appreciate your kind words. If it helps anymore I always hung with older folks, even as a kid. Never got along with children haha. My family and extended family all called me Chaz-man since I was a baby. Joke on the family every year was that I was 3 going on 30, 4 going on 30, 5 going on 30.... haha

Don't worry about the age thing, if you have a story to tell and behave and don't mind a little ribbing you are more than welcome.

You and @US Marine would get along well. Hell for that matter next time I go thorough Aberdeen to go pheasant hunting I wouldn't mind stopping to buy you dinner. Seen enough of your posts that I almost feel like I know you. And yes you are wise beyond your years.

Structured desert boots. Haven't stayed up with the desert boots but they always have a following. Might have to look at Alden they have some great boots too. And their suede is supreme. And basically supported for life. #8 Shell with commando sole. Nothing wrong with Alden and worth checking out they likely have what you are looking for. The lasts and fit is the tricky part.

They called us in for snow duty, a smaller crew not everybody. Just sitting waiting, which is pretty much what I do anyway. Thought I'd check in and see who was still awake.

Definitely will be screened more for PTSD especially during Primary care visits . And I bet any Vet now with PTSD will be screened by a VA psychologist and info given to DOJ

Good Morning gang...snowing like a bad boy in Sunny Southern Maryland. I'm gonna spend the day in the house with the wife and relax. Maybe go out this afternoon and play with the truck in the snow. Y'all have a good day whatever the weather.

Up till a couple months ago, I wore those or similar for 34 years due to my line of work.
    Now, my feet are "liberated".
I called them "Herman Munster" boots.

They bumped up the amounts here again. Now it's 3-7 inches.
    Supposed to start around 9ish.
Grocery store opens at 6:30. I'll head there before the soccer mom army wakes up and flood the roads with Chevy Suburbans .
Seems like brand new ones around here only come in 2 colors, silver or black.
