Good morning everyone! Taking the dog to doggie day care today while I'm at work and hoping he will burn some energy off playing with the other dogs. Last couple of days he is rather "exuberant" to put it mildly.

LOL pretty darn crazy, so jealous!

Sounds like things have taken a really good turn all the way around for you Bluegrass! I need to do something about the rear leafs when the weather gets a bit nicer here.

Good morning Rob we are looking at 30* again here too for a few days. Monday a cold front comes through and there is talk of that 4 letter word snow again. 8-12, 1-3, then 3-5. Hope it changes and does just one dump and is gone. But not much can do about it except accept what mother nature throws at you I guess :) Hope it stays mild for you!

Indeed 178 would be a nice ride. Heck, anywhere up in the mountains in that area would be nice!

Morning all, nice to read all the good news.

I learned to drive on a 68 Malibu and a 72 nova, My Dad loved those cars. I wrecked the 69 ford country squire, my dad wanted to kill me. He loved the fake wood siding.

Ha... we had a baby blue Country Squire with the fake wood grain on the sides too. What a boat. Also had an LTD, another boat. I learned to drive on true classic though, a '72 Pinto with a 4 speed manual.

(Official party line) My "Drivers Ed" vehicle was a 1968 Autocar tri-axle dump truck. Dad put me behind the wheel one day, said "Drive"......and off we went. In all actuality, I'd been "driving" for years. Dad kept his pick up in a big barn behind the house. I'd go in the barn fire up the pick up and drive around inside the building. He was amazed at how quick I picked up on driving a clutch. The 13-speed Roadranger tranny in the Autocar was a bit of a challenge at first.....

Similar story here, Bluegrass. Dad stopped on a country road one day and got out of the car. Told me to drive us home, two miles away. I was 14. I popped the clutch and stalled out the ol' Pinto twice and then was on my way. I was smooth on the shift within days. Never looked back, drove sticks for most of my adult life. And yes, the legal age for a permit was 16 back then. :)

Learned in a '71 Dart Swinger. Still remember being passed by a State Trooper when I was about 14, talk about nervous. Drove a '73 F100 w/ 3 on the tree when I got my license. Good memories. :)

Had a "71" Dart swinger myself. Swapped a 340, 4sp in it. Loved that car. :)

Awesome. Check out the sidewalls on the rear tires. They're feeling some strain. :)

A 72 Pinto! That's so cool, my first car was a 1961 Beetle that had an engine that my dad rebuilt in a shed in our backyard. It had an AM radio, no gas gauge and a handle on the floor under the dash that you flipped from the 12 oclock to the 3 o'clock that was for the reserve gas tank. That car was indestructible, I tried.

Cars from the 70s were just plain cool. Darts, Chargers, Chevelles, Goats and my favorite ...the Maverick. I swear I love that car.

You think the lame '72 Pinto was cool... the first car I bought for myself was a '74 Mustang II with the half vinyl top. You know... the Mustangs that had no guts due to the auto manufactures pussyfying cars due to the oil embargo.

Looked a lot like this one I just found on the internet:
