I hear you, but am stuck, the Ex wife left us 6 years ago and most things end up on my shoulders, but guess they always have. She has very little if any involvement with the boys since she left. I tried with my oldest son to get out of going to Wi. and was hoping his wife could go pick him up. Talked to him yesterday about it for awhile and it boiled down to he felt better having me come get him so I did, part of his OCD is travel he can't drive any more and just riding is hard for him. Before I left this morning the youngest son's girlfriend text me and said she thought he should go to the ER but she had to go to work and I should check up on him. Great and you have to be kidding me... I went down to see him and turns out he felt the blood thinners was causing pain so he quit them a couple of days ago, along with a lot of self cath he just couldn't do it any more. Not good but he refused to go to the ER.

Kind of caught in the middle and after everything he has been through with cancer figured he might know what he was doing so gave him $40 20 each for a cab to and from the clinic. Talked to him for over an hour and a half and thought it was OK to head to Wi. and pick up the oldest boy. Had to stop a lot on the way back for him he ended up in the back on the dog bench, up until then had to stop every 20 minutes and let him get out and take deep breathes and walk around and get it together. Once he got in the back on the dog bench he went to sleep and I got to listen to the rest of his Hard Core History and the blueprint for Armagendon and the beginnings of WW1. Finally got home and dropped him off and life was somewhat back to normal for a few minutes, although feel like this crud is still kicking my butt all day.

The youngest son's girlfriend called me about 9, right about when I got back, and said she had no idea where he was. Told her I would find him and first thought was the hospital and ER are old thick brick buildings that don't get cell phone reception or even wifi. Called the hospital and yep he had been in the ER all day and still is. Got to talk to him not sure if they are going to check him in or not into the hospital, but he wanted his girlfriend to come not me. I let her know and she ran down there, still haven't heard from her. Story of my life last year or so, damned if you do and damned if you do. Just try to the best I can, but yeah these shoulders sure ain't broad enough any more.

On a good note I love driving through Wi. in the Northern hunting and fishing areas. The signs advertise guns, beer, and cigars for most one stop shopping. ATF isn't a government agency there it is the advertising for a convenience store LOL!

OK.....Off to a much better start today! Antibiotics kicking in. I got my insurance statement yesterday covering almost all the surgery, etc......It covered just about everything. I was shocked.

Clear and cold today. 17 degrees now. Light snow tomorrow, Sunday and Monday. In the mid 60's by next weekend (so they say)

Good morning from 35,000 feet.....

On my way to sunny SoCal for the NHRA Winter Nationals.....

 

Safe travels my friend. Ya couldn't have picked a better time to head west. Cold temps forcasted in the Mid Atlantic for the next few days.

 

Yes indeed!!! That snow kicked my ASS two weeks ago so now it's time for some Beach,sand,sun and R&R.... You know me and the other half are looking down in the Lake Wylie SC area or maybe even a little further south as our new residence in 10 years.

You need too come over to the land of the free for the time being and get in some range time with us!!

 

Holyshit has this flight went from not a bump in the sky too fucking crater sized potholes and we have went from 35,000 feet down too 26,000 to find some smooth air....

 

I hate those flights.

I forgot you had mentioned the NHRA before, sounds like a blast.
I am going out to Death Valley for a backpack, 7.5 miles and 4500 ft elevation gain. Don't ask me why I do this crap. It's a scout thing.

 

Yeah it's been many years since I have done any real hiking other than stuff around great falls Va....
