Thanks for the input. Going to head over there in a few minutes. I'll definitely ask them about putting some sound deadening insulation in the doors since they'll have the panels off anyway. Not so much for keeping sound out, I find the '16 Taco to have a very quiet cabin. More so to keep my music from disrupting family dinners and people sleeping within two city blocks of my truck.

Heading over to my next door neighbor's distillery to help bottle batch #8 of Iron Smoke Whiskey. It's good stuff. Give it a try if you happen to find it.

Okay... back from the audio shop. This system is going to sound fantastic ! Went with JL Audio, not the top of their line stuff but pretty close. 250 watt, 4-channel amp. 2 pair of 6.5" speakers. Subwoofer, OE intergration to pare with the stock head unit, and good sound deadening material in the doors. $4,100 out the door.

Hey Mike.... took my truck in to get the tires rotated today (was included in the purchase). They checked the battery and the slip I saw said it needed a full charge, but the battery checked "good". They didn't say anything about it, I just happened to see it when checking out. Will running it fix the battery, or will it fail on me while driving

It might have said good , recharge. It means the battery is not fully charged. It won't "fail" you on the road. The amps readout is what I look at.
Remember it takes 7 to 10 miles of driving just to replace the start cycle of one startup. Plus the battery is always being drained by computers. I have battery tender leads on my truck and jeep. Once a month I hook up the trickle charger and "peak" the battery's. Even though nothing is wrong with my batteries you can definately feel and hear the difference. The battery will charge and be fine but never "peak" in the truck. Way to many inputs like lights, heater, other acc.
Also these stupid handheld testers suck. I hate them. Old school carbon pile testers are way better. But it is what it is.
One trick I use is I see how the dash looks while cranking. The illuminating lights should slightly fluctuate. If you notice a deeper pulse then voltage is lower than it use to be indications of a battery that may test good but not be up to snuff. I know just by looking at the dash on startup if I should look at the battery closer.

Your Not testing the battery on the scan gauge 13.7 is charging voltage.
The amp check is the capability of the battery to produce power.
Only can be checked under a load.

Interesting how we prioritize things in life and what we choose to spend money on. My ex gf wouldn't hesitate to spend $7,000 on a coat or $2,400 on a purse. I had a friend who spent $6,000 carpeting his garage. Me... I don't spend more than $90 on a pair of shoes but I don't mind spending that money on my truck stereo.

I saw this morning that Toyota finally wised up and put the trailer connector in the bumper, instead of hanging it below the bumper.

Not a horrible price mine was 3200 but I had the two amps think they were 300 ish and I fabricated the racks for the amps and ordered the spacers from taco tunes along with having them put in the second set of tweeters in the back doors. Hell the head unit was almost 1K by itself at the time it was the newest model.
