Yes. I never use one. They are full size pedestal seats on my boat and they are a pain in the ass. Can't store them. Hard to move on deck. So this I can rig, store, and if I want to sit at some point in the future I'll have it.

Not too much of a choice on working....I'm "the boss" so I don't get to call in sick. Right now (off season) I have 7 employees, 5 of which did not show up yesterday, so I'm forced to cover for them. One had her car repo-ed, so she's missed 5 straight days of work staying home arguing with the car lot that took her car back. She'll be the FIRST to go. She's missed 14 days in the last 30. At some point, NO excuse is good if all you do is make excuses.

I'm sure there is some "viable" excuse for having to constantly make excuses, which should be the reason to fire them instead of making excuses not to. People like that suck the life out of coworkers always having to take up the slack for excuse makers. Attendance is sort of a big deal when you have a job. Keeping it and being there to do what you are being paid for makes it important. Excuses don't pay bills, keep jobs or make friends. Good luck with it, people like that are usually of the short bus mindset that they are "owed" a job no matter how they act or perform. Good luck............

 

Bottom line, she doesn't seem to have time in her life for a job. When she's here, her performance is a 7 or 8 (on a 10 scale), but I can't plan work around people who don't show up. And she's very vocal with her attitude. The other employees see that she gets away with it, so they try the same stunts..... I hate to sound like a hard ass, but I have a job to do too.

 

#1Write her up u need a paper trail.
#2 handle it because others will resent it if you don't .
#3 The other employes will respect a boss/leader for doing the right thing for them and the company .

Not hard ass at all. Sounds exactly how it should be. That crap is contagious to other employees either because they are tired of carrying her or realizing they'd get fired for doing the same but are dumbfounded why she isn't. Fosters despisal from multiple directions. And why should you jeopardize your position coddling to people like that having to account for them to higher ups? I just don't understand why some people can't function of the same plane as everyone else is expected to, just beyond silly.

 

I blame reality TV. Everyone thinks their life is broken if it doesn't include huge daily doses of drama.
