That bayonet is WAY too short. Ithaca stopped sale of the 37 during WW2 to provide them to the military and a small number of 1911's. Now this is how a shotgun with a bayonet is supposed to look. Not sure what is up with that one you saw.

If you find one in that condition it will cost thousands.

We had 37's on one of the ships I was on everyone knew to leave it alone, it was mine. With nukes on board there is no such thing as a security alert drill so always live ammo. Figured with a ship and steel compartments crack the hatch on the intruder stick the muzzle in and pull the trigger and let the buckshot bounce. Bring a mop for cleanup.

SEAL teams in Nam used the 37, they could use the bayonet but my experience with them is they don't carry anything extra that may not be needed.

The duckbill spreader was developed for them in Nam too.

A duckbill and bayonet on a shotgun coming at you has to be a bit of an O'shit experience.

Folks are using those in Cook Inlet fishing for Halibut and King Salmon; wearing wetsuits of course. But at $3K+, they are pricey for a one man rig. We've got $5K in our Achilles rig, and we fish 3 to 4 people at a time both for halibut in Cook Inlet and dipnetting salmon on Copper River. Lot of money for a one man rig ... fun I'm sure, but the fish to dollar ratio comes up a little expensive. IMHO :notsure:
I'll bet the computer won't allow an early start. :boink:

That was a cheap shot. :sorry:
