Thanks all, it was a good event, he left alot of people with great memories, but time to move on. I will be spending some time helping his son go through his stuff. Lots and lots of stuff.

Sorry for your loss Andy. You are a good friend to him, I'm sure his son appreciates the support you are giving him. I had to go through my parents stuff when they passed, it's not easy but in a lot of ways it helped me to deal.

    Howdy!

What a weekend (so far....more to come!) Friday, the wife and I spent the evening in the new park near our house. The place is incredible! We saw a total of 46 deer right at sundown. Yesterday, we drove up into Indiana where the DNR was doing "Raptor Day" at Charlestown State Park. Saw a screech owl, a barn owl, a great horned owl, a red tailed hawk, and a BALD EAGLE! The presentation was interesting and educational. Watching the reactions of little kids when they brought out the bald eagle was worth the trip! Then home to grill out. Back @ work today until 1PM or so, then home to wash the truck and watch the NASCAR race at Bristol. Love me some short track racing!

Hope y'all are doing fine this beautiful day!

    Morning all.
Glad Raptor Day was as good as you anticipated.

Oh yeah, Bristol ... I don't watch a lot of NASCAR any more, but I too love some short track...takes me back to my roots. I grew up in VA. ;)

When they make me king.....ALL NASCAR events will be run on tracks of 1 mile or smaller, and will be run on Saturday nights....

I grew up about 20 minutes away from Salem Motor Speedway, in Salem Indiana. It's a paved version of Bristol with about 100,000 less seats. Back in the day, I got to watch a young Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, and a bunch of other future stars racing USAC sprint cars there. The banked turns are so steep, Darryl Waltrip used to call the track "The Hills of Salem". He was track champion there one year. It also saw the likes of AJ Foyt, Mario Andretti, and a host of other Indy Car stars. Salem ran USAC midgets, sprinters, and silver crown....ASA used to race there, as well as a regular ARCA event.

I used to enjoy yard work but now that i am older would rather play on the weekends rather than "work in the yard". I may change if I ever get to retire but who knows.

I'm on vacation in two weeks from now. Leftover week from last year I have to burn up.
Turkey hunting in the morning and Trout in the afternoon.
Sounds like a plan to me.

Certainly is. Supposed to get up to 70 today. Going to put around in the yard. Too nice to be in today.

Looking forward to Turkey this year. Had my arm in a cast last year from the surgery so I had to sit out Spring Turkey.
Don't care anymore if I get one or not, Just enjoy being out there and seeing the show.
