guess the installers got confused and used a 3/4 impact instead of 1/2 too lazy to torque i guess only supposed to be what 85lbs ?

Some black goo that got approved for it. Doesn't work. Comes off in sections. Doesn't stop the rust. Then you get it all over yourself while working under the truck.

Fun day in store for today....Top dressing 8 tons of material on clay court tennis courts. It's a mixture of something very similar to what NASCAR uses for oil dry with powdered gypsum mixed in for binder. We spread it with a machine, but the dust level is horrible. It'll take 3 of us about 3 hours total. We unloaded it yesterday.....by hand.....all in 80lb bags. Feeling every bit of my 58 years this morning.

Feeling kinda nervous waiting for the results of yesterdays MRI. A nurse there clued me in on what I could expect based on past cases with similar circumstances. She told me 3 things that were "likely". It involves more surgery.

86 degrees yesterday. Felt like August! 81 and clear today. Starting off @ 62 and dark.

I'm impressed they could get 'em that tight and NOT snap off the studs....Years ago, I had a rep for Centerline tell me it would ruin a rim over torqueing the lug nuts like that. That was right after I'd just spent 3 pay checks on new wheels. His words stuck in my brain.....

    Morning everyone.

The clay court job sounds miserable. Watch that back and lean more towards the supervisor side of the job ... I know that's surely not your style...BTDT. ;)

The nurses are usually spot on when they've been there a while ... sorry Blue, sure that doesn't help. :sorry: :(

I'm amazed the concept of torque isn't more common knowledge; but I'll be honest, it's not something my Daddy taught me. The Air Force did though, and you can bet it's a concept my boys got taught. For something so important ... wide spread ignorance just confounds me. :notsure:

I think they are locked into the rim also. Not by problem anymore.

With Mikes recent experience explains why I like to know the torque specs when tightening stuff on my truck.

 The torque spec pages in my Chiltons/Haynes manuals are always dog eared and dirtiest. ;)

Morning all, I had problems with the acorn lugs twisting under too much torque. That's why I went with the splined. I have learned to ask for my spline driver back before I leave a shop, they always forget.
