Done spreading clay! Went well. I let the young guys tote the 80lb bags and I drove the spreader. Done for another year! 27th time I've done it. Now to put the lines down. 27,000 2" aluminum roof nails hold down a rubberized canvas strip that forms the lines. Nothing about these things is fun.

just what I need to do what I want
I loaned out my truck. I felt lost with out knowing exactly where it was, how they loaded the trailer, could he back it up well and then there was the Santa Ana winds in the high desert. AARRGGHH!!! My buddies son called and asked if he could use my truck to pull a U-Haul trailer from Orange County to Victorville to move his stuff back to his parents house in OC. I have been friends with his dad for 15 years and have been camping and backpacking with them numerous times over the years. Really squared away family, buddy and his wife are medical (as am I), son is an aerospace engineer-but he has only towed a trailer once before and the winds in the high desert were supposed to be up to 50-60 mph. Well I ended up loaning it to him with plenty of instructions and I am happy to say he returned it back with no problems-even washed and with a full tank of gas. I was more anxious throughout the day than I was prepared for, (it was easier to drop my son off at college) anyone else experience the same thing? I DO NOT think I would do this again. Thoughts...

It really depends on who it is and how well you know them.

As I think about it now, I'd let my youngest son take it anytime; my oldest son, never. Outside of him, my hunting/fishing buddy anytime, and two of my BILs I'd be OK with.

Just got off the phone with the urologist.....MRI results are in his hands. He's claiming it is against policy to tell me what they say via phone, and I'll have to schedule an appointment to get the lowdown. Meanwhile, he referred me to another doctor that I'll be seeing Friday morning @ 8:45.......An oncologist. Not sure what to say now.

Even though it is beyond terrifying, once they know what it is then it can be treated. Without a definitive diagnosis there can be no definitive treatment. Attitude makes a huge difference! Be strong-minded, the body will follow the mind. Best wishes and prayers sent!

Thanks guys. Your support means more than you know. I talked with my doctor yesterday after I got home. He called to explain a few things so I would not have to wait until Friday to know what all is going on. The MRI detected a 6cm growth in my right kidney, a 3cm growth on the liver, and a "spot" on my pancreas. He went on to tell me the usual course of action will be chemo, radiation, and surgery, ranging from removing the larger growth on the kidney, to possibly removing that kidney. The lingering infection is a result of the kidney. They will evaluate and see just how much damage is done to that kidney before suggesting the next action. There will also be further testing to see if cancer is in my bloodstream, or has travelled to any other parts of the body.

Talk about timing....I'm going to the funeral home this evening to pay my respects to an old friend who just died of pancreatic cancer.

Hard NOT to be scared at a time like this....

Hard to find the words, but know we are praying and pulling for you. I'd be scared too, so I don't know what to tell you for that. We're here when you need to vent, cuss, and discuss.

i enjoy this web site for many reasons. the other threads are informative sometimes and the people generally very helpful. this thread, however, is full of real people, caring people, and at this point in life we're all pretty much finding some sort of health issue. finding out we're not immortal is eye opening to put it mildly. i have always put the needs of my family first working a job that i understood wasn't healthy figuring i'd tackle problems as they came. well for many of us that time has started. we deal with it by having the support of our families and friends. everyone here seems to be genuinely good people and obviously we have stuff in common. while we are all spread out across the country the sincere support is still there. thanks for letting me be part of this
