SPRING, Texas --
Two masked men tried to abduct a woman outside her home in a Houston-area subdivision Friday, but Montgomery County deputies ended up arresting the woman's fiancé who came to her rescue.

Her fiancé, Jeremiah Morin, ran outside shooting at the men as they ran away from the Legends Trace subdivision in the city of Spring.

The victim gave KTRK-TV surveillance video showing the masked men attacking her. She also provided images that she said shows the masked men were armed with guns.

Joe Nichols, who lives nearby, said he saw the men run up and grab his neighbor shortly before noon.

"It was strange. Just out of the blue attack on her," he said. "This was a gunfight at the O.K. Corral stuff. There were 10 to 12 shots fired."

Much to the confusion of neighbors and the victim, deputies arrested Morin, saying he was affiliated with a gang and charging him with deadly conduct with a firearm. They alleged that he shot recklessly into the neighborhood while aiming for the attackers.

"During the entire investigation, detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit were met with resistance and a lack of cooperation from the victim and Morin as to the motive and details surrounding the attack," the agency said in a statement


I do not care the guy is AFFILIATED with a gang if he has warrants charge him ( no gun charges but discharge not felon prohibited) but other then that he was protecting his Fiance , they have video and neighbors for witnesses ... Ok they got belligerent and non cooperative neither of which is crime to my knowledge so what gives is TX becoming a pansy state ??? Not a political discussion please as I recall the law there you could use deadly force to protect life and property and as long as they dropped on your property you were good so ...has the law changed ?

Sorry to hear that Greg. I'll say a few prayers for him.

A friend invited me over this afternoon to send some lead down range. He has a 100 acre piece of property and built a range last year. Yesterday, he lengthened it to 250yds which is somewhat uncommon up here (at least for public areas). Sooo, it looks like I might take out the black, scary rifle this afternoon...

I hope there is cause those officers will be getting sued if they got nothing but an affiliation and lack of cooperation and attitude , I can't say I wouldn't be pissed if you threaten to lock me up or actually arrest me for what think is a pretty straight forward case SO FAR ... Keep an eye on the papers there if you would I am curious how this plays out..

That is the problem with the arrest "Affiliated" they did not arrest on gun charges IE weapon in the possession of a felon or person prohibited etc Some thing is really off but as we all know the news people are IMPARTIAL lol and would never tell a lie / craft a story to inflame certain groups.
