Rain. It did come down shortly later. Buckets. Lost power twice. Heck of a storm. Then it was gone.
I know why Dakars came. Its because I gave ToyTec lots of money.

    Pond in basement sounds cool.
I was just reading an article about landfill mining. Resurrecting closed landfills, recycling materials that can, shredding mattresses etc to begin methane production to power 1600 homes a day.

Wet exit = Her Kayak capsized. She was trying to help a friend that had gotten into a strainer (a branch of a tree hanging into the water) I was downstream catching her equipment then my wife did the same thing. We had brought along towels and a change of clothes as a safety precaution. If the water temp. added to the air temp. is less than 100 hypothermia is a concern. When we got to our take out it was snowing and temps were falling. If that trip was much longer we may have been in serious trouble. But as it turned out nobody was worse for the wear. Overall we had a good time.

Good morning back to work today for me after 4 days off. Still look for the oldest dog that is no longer around in the morning when I take the pup out. 3 days of gentle steady rain finishing up here soon. I should have had put grass seed down but yard still needs picked up of all the sticks and leaves from winter. And isn't thawed enough to rake yet. First flowers will be coming up soon and for the first time I can think of no snow on the ground. But it aint over yet I'm pretty sure of that. Then again 50's in the forecast. Washed and put away all my long underwear yesterday that out to make her snow soon.

Great car, Mopar or no car... :)

In 86 Geoff Bodine won the Daytona 500 and one of his prizes was a special edition Superbird. He came "home" for a few days to Chemung, NY where he grew up. It is a little cow town on the NY/Pa. border and back then IIRC we had about 500 people there spread out over a large area. Make that 501 I was back in the area for recruiting duty then. Everyone turned up back home to see him. Watched him go over the RR tracks and the car was a special edition one off Daytona (of course) and lowered, he had to come to a stop basically to go over them. Then he floored it when he crossed the tracks it was pretty impressive you could feel that thing far above and beyond any of the other muscle cars that were around.

Strainers are dangerous and wet exits are only fun when it's warm. We always carry a dry bag with an extra large pair of sweats (will fit almost anyone that needs them ), socks, and towels, and Firestarter. Winter paddling can get quite hazardous but it is awesome

When i was a kid, our neighbor across the street had a Plymouth Superbird in bright orange no less. It's my first memory of cars and probably how i got the addiction.

Seems my weekends are busy these days! Worked Saturday then drive to Richmond to spend time with our daughter and her boyfriend. Got home late, woke up early on Sunday to cook breakfast for our paddling friends then was out on the river until almost dark.
Yesterday was spent cutting trees that were downed in a storm a few weeks ago, and changing a lawn tractor tire. I guess they wear it after 15 years or so.
I was exhausted! After all that,
