    I got this....Keep telling myself.....I got this....

I made it to work an hour early this morning. Had to get a few things done before I leave @ 7:45 to head over to the doctor's office. Today I get the "option list".....Then they start handing me off to various specialist's.

I had to be jump rated when I was in the Army. The feeling I have right now is IDENTICAL to the one I had when I was climbing up the parachute training tower for the first attempt. I know I'm not gonna like this, but I GOTTA do it. So let's get moving.

My #2 guy is going to get here this morning about 30 minutes after I leave. He's having his port removed after months of intensive chemo for lung cancer. He's a success story. My #1 source for inspiration at this moment. Funny how it works out...His LAST day of treatment is my FIRST.

I'm finding out what I already knew to be true.....Sleep is going to come in bits and pieces.....Lot of fitful sleep and waking up worried at this point.

I hope you all don't mind me venting here. Kind of a one track mind at the moment.

So far......All I'm hearing from the doctor's is encouraging news. They think this was caught early enough BECAUSE of all the attention due to the prostate/kidney stone/infection issues. I've spoken with 3 people I know who've been through the very same thing, had a kidney removed, and went on with life. One had it removed almost 20 years ago. I'll be OK. I'm still in the "bad mood" phase. After dealing with the other issue for more than 6 months, and thinking I was ALMOST out of the woods, here we go AGAIN, for what promises to be a year or more of doctors, meds, missed work, and skipping all the fun things of summer. May be a while before I'm bouncing along on the trails again. Oh well.....May save me from busting out a back window....who knows....

Anyway, thanks for the support. It really does mean a lot.

Good Morning , supposed to be just a little cooler today with temps in the low 80's . Just now waking up , had to feed the cats and will probably stay up an hour or so then head back to bed

Just got back from the doctor's office. Like I said earlier, I'm a big believer in positive thoughts and good karma.

    YOU GUYS DID IT!!!!!!!!!
The doctor had what amounted to the best news I've heard in ages. The growth on the kidney is exophytic. Meaning, it's on the outside, rather than IN the kidney. It can be removed without taking the kidney. They will take a small "divot" below the cyst, cutting some healthy tissue to make certain all the malignant growth is removed. It can be done via robotic surgery. This means 3 small (less than 1") incisions. Hospital stay of 24 to 48 hours. Able to return to work in 3 to 5 days, with a 10lb lifting restriction for 3 weeks. They will biopsy the spots on the liver and pancreas as a precautionary measure, but further examination by the radiologist indicate it is NOT cancerous. Once ALL the kidney surgery is over and done, I will get a full body CT scan and PT scan to make certain there is no other cancer throughout the rest of my body. If THAt comes back clear, CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH, probably by mid to late June!

This ain't over 'til it's over, but the light at the end of the tunnel isn't a burglars torch as it once appeared to be. Looks like this may have the best possible conclusion!
