Congratulations on the new Appliances Susan. It's good to get those small screen washers for the washer feed lines.

Yea Rob I can relate. The heavy pollin is about over, but in this sub tropical climate there's always something popping! Hang in there bud.

susan have they come and picked up your old washer and dryer yet? do they still work? iidk how things work where you live obviously but was just wonderig if a scrap/ salvage company would pick up for free? or if still work maybe put in local paper and sell dirt cheap either way you wouldn't have to pay for them to haul away. i know it's easier to just let them take them

Chris, they won't deliver the new ones until the 18th, at which time, they will take the old ones.... They both still work.... the reason I"m replacing is because the washer leaks occasionally from underneath. I figure one of these days what ever is leaking will completely let go and flood my house  But, might try something..... a place that sells used ones, cheap....

avatar sure its kinda whatever you like. are your wheels polished aluminum or chromed aluminum? either way there are steps that you'll have to take for proper paint adhesion. just let us know what you'd like to do i'll be happy to try and help and give you reasons why i tell things. i'm also sure there are others on here who can chime in with their own advice and may know better than me. hell i'm always willing to listen. when we going to get a pic of the whole truck?

my only thinking was hey if you can even get somebody to take them away for free your ahead a little. maybe someone in your community would take them for $25 apiece. the part that gets me always is i know it's easier to let them just take them but they'll charge you i'm sure then they'll just take to scrap yard and get paid again. in the end though the only thing that matters is what works best for you

I had thought about that.... but with the washer leaking... not sure it would be worth it to fix.... although.... I know someone that could use it, if I can fix it.....

Ms Carol is NOT a mechanic and wouldn't know what to do with it.... She's retired and on a limited income... As long as it isn't too much, I'll see what I can do.... although should you tube to see what might be wrong with hers....

i'm by absolutely no means an appliance tech. we had a problem a couple of times with our washer and christie looked it up on youtube and showed me how to fix it we got parts off Amazon for cheap it ended up in both cases to be much easier than i had imagined. my fix would have been to just weld it shut and get rid of it ha ha

I can't get to my dryer cord currently..... do most newer houses have the 3 or 4 prong plugs?? I really don't want to have to move my dryer until it's time for it to go..... :anonymous:

    Small useful for me stuff.

Ok, time for me stop trolling and chime in on this aged group as I fit the criteria. I've read all 291 pages and figured I'd get in before 300. Lol

All new homes should have 4 pronged dryer and range plugs. The code change was long ago. A new dryer can be installed on an older system(3 wire) but most places and manufacturers are getting away from it because of the electronics on the new equipment. What is currently on your dryer?

    welcome!!!

Don't remember.... put it in 13 years ago and haven't looked since. Don't want to move the dryer until I have to - it a pain in the rear end to get the exhaust vent tube put back. Closet isn't deep enough for a normal hose, so have a fixed vent and it's a pain to line up :anonymous: Oh, well, looks like I'm going to have to....
