    Good evening. Think I'm finally drying out and warming up. 41* today and solid heavy rain all day. Had fun shooting though. Up to a point then sitting in the clubhouse was good enough for me.

    @bucktales had to wait to shoot on the pigeon ring for some wild turkeys to pass though. The purple flamingos we used for station markers LOL. This is Federal ammo country as it is made close to here. So purple for 16 ga. Crappy cell phone pics in the rain.

    Time to strip the guns and clean them and spread out my gear to dry. Hot meal some place in there too.

    No holes and maybe not a lot of whistle from oval sides and cross bars. https://www.etrailer.com/Ladder-Racks/TracRac/TA27000-01-01.html Though I still think @Casper66 could build a nicer one :}

    Welcome to Sat Gun Talk ( Read for laughs if you wish or not )

    Range went .. as well as could be expected I thought it was only a few years since he had been 10 according to him .. Oh well
    I hate his older Ruger K ???? 9mm semi trigger travels for days before bang but he was doing fine with it some trigger control issues but not horrible. I did put the baby glock 40 in his hand he liked It and then put the sig 40 in his hand lol then he wanted to trade lol. He will be in trouble before the end of next month and it will be my fault .I told him to just blame @Cold Iron. He agreed though, he did say he has no idea what or who that was but sounded good to him so he is going with it :}.

    His new 870 Mag 12 Ga went well for him with the exception of he did not ask me what ammo to get so he got the 3" mag slugs the manual says it takes lol. I was like bud I told you 2 3/4 #6 for in the house and same size for slug. This is a light weight extendable plastic stock pistol grip 870 Mag .. He found out it is no fun shooting 3" Mags and he is likely to have a nice bruise on his cheek tomorrow ( it was already showing before we got done with it ) :} He is going to trade them off now to someone else for the 2 3/4 Fed Low Recoil Rounds lol. But it patterned well and slugged out to 50 yards ok it is a Sweeper not a Hunter.

    Moved on to his new Ruger 10/22 wanna be M4 look a like plastic it SUCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS , I think he is going to send it back . I got the model for those interested is a 10/22 ATI-AR Talo it is a 10/22 with it's normal shell removed and this crappy molded plastic M4 stock screwed on to include the slide release, forward assist knob and mag release buttons but they are just molded in they do not work they left the regular stuff..Very awkward to get to mag release in a kind of well. Anyhow the barrel is essentially free floating from the receiver forward could not get it to sight in and be reliable. They even put quasi AR sights on it but the forward one has no detent pin you just screw the sight up and down and hope it stays there ..I put my thumb beside the barrel and lightly tapped it while holding the shroud and the barrel shifts it is not loose won't turn etc just nothing steadying it. It appears it is floating inside this skin. So it went back in the bag I told him send it back or get the real furniture that goes with and sights and we will go from there.

    Onward to his Smith MP 5.56 ( I thought it was a bushmaster) right out of the box he needed a refresher on sight picture etc and which side the mag release was on but he did well we walked it in slowly with some teaching commentary ... Ok so it was more like "Stop jerking the trigger " .. "Stop Looking after every shot" .. "Don't Snatch the trigger" umm with no round in the chamber it is an expensive stick and not a very good one at that lol. You get the drift there was other commentary but I will just let your imagination fill in the blanks. A dozen rounds and he was in mostly except when he screwed up himself bad cheek weld , trigger or breathing but for not shooting in 10 years and according to him only ever seeing an M-16 in Navy Basic not shooting it he did very well .

    I showed him transitioning from weapon to to weapon so he can practice and walking fire ( recon glide and fire) , failure drill and zipper shots but he is going to work on marksman ship first he did try failure drill with all three C / Mass he was ok but head missed over the target . I did not want him to try the walk or zipper yet .

    @Cold Iron the laser sight works well tried it bright sun vari/vari distance and sun good to go the range is wooded still worked very well just wait for batt longevity and see if it gets moisture with the humidity here and wait till winter to see how the leds stand up to cold . Might pop it in the refrigerator for an hour and see what happens.

    My frame works very well needs one more pin to prevent the vertical from the base turning to for but it survived with out a bullet hit one...:}

    One flexiril and 2 fingers of scotch and not much but a dull ache in the shoulder and hand :} MAN CODE HU RUH !

    Some pictures :}

    yeah. didn't get to burn it tonight - was cutting grass. Got more kindling/wood this afternoon, so have plenty of fuel to burn that puppy up!!! will smack it a few times with my axe to hopefully open it up some to make it easier to burn. Also got another container of lighter fluid!! It will be gone soon!!!!

    About time to head that way here soon. Mower should be cool by now so I can hose it off

    That's pretty good !!!

    I got to take my AR out of its case and clean it today and put back in its case !! , Sucks that Calif classifies this as an evil black rifle or assault rifle and can't be used anymore in Calif

    Still waiting to register it as an assault rifle and hoping the laws change
