this was my other rock crawler and i liked this one alot , 1968 M38A1 military jeep . This pic is at Corral canyon OHV park in the east county of San Diego . my jeep is geared at 123.1:1 low range and locked front/rear . i idled up this small rutted out hill and attentionally tried to make it look scary for the other club members in my 4x4 club and it worked . Right after the pic was taken the r/front tire was as high as the l/front and carried the front tires up over the top of this hill

let's just say after i climbed this hill the two members looking at my attempt decided it was best to go around this obstacle LOL!!!!

Yep older jeeps are fun and the newer JK or 4door Rubicon is a favored rock crawler

Hey @Mike , I've figured out it's not "stupid" we're trying to fix, these punks are lazy and manipulatively smart. Came close to throttling one when I got into work tonight. :frusty: :annoyed:

If they worked half as hard trying not to work it would be a non issue... There is no ownership in being at fault anymore. It's always someone else's fault.

    Good morning btw

    I had a '78 CJ5, bought new in '78. Then a '79 CJ7, bought used in 1981.

The CJ5 was essentially stock, 12.00 "Mudders", and a 21 year old idiot attached to the gas pedal. It would go ANYWHERE....with minimal damage.....

The CJ7 had 5-1/2" of suspension lift, 2" of body lift, 38" Mudders, a 350 hp 350 cu in small block Chevy, Borg Warner Super T10 tranny, transfer case out of a '76 Ford F250, Narrowed Dana 60 front and rear axles, Recarro bucket seats, full leather interior, a 3-tone candy apple red paint job, Runk bumpers front and rear, Warn 8000lb winch, and the same idiot, just a few years older, at the wheel. It would go places I shouldn't have taken it.....Submerged it in 5' of water on one occasion.

They were both "AMC" Jeeps. the frames were brittle. Body was prone to rust. Electricals were a joke. And the stock rear axles were pathetic. (AMC "corporate" axle....ie, Pacer/Gremlin....)

Difference between now and then? I liked working on junk then. Not so much any more.

I did like those old Gateway Tire Co "Gumbo Mudders" though.

    AMEN!

It's not only "always someone else's fault", it's always someone else's responsibility to PAY for their screw ups. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.....That went away when it became "ethical" for lawyers to advertise.

Quiet day ahead (I hope!) No meetings, just one scheduled sales appointment, and we're just about back on schedule with a couple projects that were lagging behind. :headbang:

Yesterday, after joking with my boss about how I'd like to "clone" one of my employees (because she's so good at what she does) she informs me she has someone who wants to put in an application.....Her IDENTICAL twin sister. That's Twilight Zone stuff:alien:

:mudding:Planning a short wheelin' trip this weekend! 3 vehicles, less than an hour from my house.....Should be fun!

My wife cannot stand this guy. But she'll be going anyway. He's always good for entertainment purposes. He's a city boy. Last summer, I had him CONVINCED watermelons grew on trees. I told him the hardest part was getting them down out of the tree tops without dropping them. He bought it hook, line, and sinker.....
