Totally agree! Problem here is Hormel. They have contracts with almost all the farms and the belly bacon goes to them. There are a few smaller places that are raising Berkshire hogs which have not been bred to be "The other white meat" which is way too lean IMO. Problem is they don't usually sell off to individuals either they make a killing selling their limited brand.

A friend of mine told me last week of a place down in Iowa that sells belly bacon and pigs. Going to have to make a road trip. Nothing like homemade bacon!

I've got an older model of one of those gun lockers they're pretty good. They at least give a nice place to store everything. Mines packed to overflowing I think I've got 12 or 15 long guns crammed in it. Did you get the compartment and drawers that hang down in the middle?

A guy I work with raises them for us. Gets them weened and we rotate buying the feed and slaughter at 6 mos. This years pigs were exceptional. We started with 3 but had to put one down and that would been my boss's, so I sold him 1/2 of mine. I felt bad for him so I made him a good deal.

You can always talk to some of the ag students and do a barn sale if they'll do it. It usually ends up being a good deal for you and them.

The 3Win is an excellent precision platform. One of my training partners hit a 750yd cold bore in a 25+ mph crosswind then sent two more as follow ups it was about 8" group. One of the students in our class a couple weeks ago hit a Coke can at 1040yd with the second round.

The Vortex 6-24 PST would make an excellent scope for that rifle.

The shitters don't care how much it weighs, if they really want it they'll use a refrigerator dolly to pick it up then bust into it at a remote location.

Spent the night out in the desert and all day on top of a climb in 98° heat. I am spent. Drank a liter of water and 2 large gatorades. The troop we set up for, fed us so that was nice. But I am moving slow right now

@Tacoma Mike glad she is home safe and you are there by her side. Best wishes for a quick and complete recovery.
No...yes if we get rid of Chris
do you have to walk 3 paces behind her and hold her purse?

    Everyday is no pants day
    Happy birthday old man
I just read these 2 posts thinking they were somehow related.

Your not by chance related to @Cold Iron are you lol that 300WM is a Parker Hale Model 87 if I can recall correctly I do know it was imported here . Not real sure I want to convert it so been debating I really think I would go .308 of some type . I am not likely to ever go beyond 300 yards or so anymore I had enough wrapped up in things lost during a tragic boat accident lol

Was it built on a Mauser action?
It not as easy to build as a Rem 700, but they're accurate.
The Canadian military had some PH sniper rifles built, they are tough to find but but every bit as good as an M40.
