Morning all. Nice and humid up here today and the weathermen are all running around with woodies over the potential for severe thunderstorms later...

Yea. Thought this was my retirement job. Could be a chance to stay on we have to see. I immediately got on phone. Since last legislature we didn't get the money that was asked for nowhere near. Tax money from sporting good sales was no longer and now goes into general fund. Every park needs electrical and ADA plumbing. Just no money.

That just sucks. Where's this wonderful economy I kept hearing about for the last 5 or 6 years?? Not everyone wants to be packers at Amazon shipping centers...

There's no layoffs in the private sector. There's a shortage down here in the trades for people. That's why I left on good terms and worked hard. I can go back for twice the money. Just not the benefits . Here get 16 hours a month pto plus holidays plus retirement and 401 and paid health ins.

We live about an hour south of Harrisburg and love the Farm Show. I grew up in rural Pa surrounded by mostly dairy farms and fruit orchards. As kids, my parents would take us every year to the Farm Show. Usually one or two days of the week of fair a snow storm would go through. This was one of the few days my Dad would allow us to skip school to attend. My favorite thing still is the milkshakes! Thank you Mike for taking me back to good memories growing up! http://abc27.com/2017/01/08/woman-has-been-making-farm-show-milkshakes-since-1954/

    Morning All you fine folks:hattip:.

Hi Kevin, Pennsylvania Dept. of Transportation AKA "PENNDOT" is responsible for maintenance and rebuilding of state roads. Our previous governor enacted a $.28 a gallon gas road tax to fund bridge and road rebuilding. 3 1/2 years ago they started rebuilding the main road(approx. 3 miles of roadway) past where I live and after a little more than half was completed, THEY Ran Out of money:eek::facepalm: so now we have two lanes of traffic instead of the 4 lanes it should be. Gotta love government in action:puke:

This really stinks. Will you be placed on a recall list for furloughed employees? State employees in Pa have recall rights for three years. Hoping you do as well. Good luck.

Morning Ken. Pa's gas tax is the reason I fill up every time I am south of the Mason-Dixon line. Pa sure does seem to have money to fix bridges in my area. Several are being reconstructed this summer. My US House Rep is Shuster.
