    Hi Mike! I did 12 years in HealthCare IT and we were never that strict. It was our job to make sure sensitive info was not accessed by the wrong accounts, but we never keylogged or eavesdropped on our users without their authorization. Things must be pretty crazy where you work if they have to resort to keylogging. Anyways, welcome to TW! I just started posting to the 50+ forums myself. I joined TW back in 2014 and was about to post in the 40+ forums; and next thing I know I'm 50. Still not sure how that happened.

    And also, good morning ya'll

    Welcome Mike! I'm in the same boat when it comes to using computers at work for personal use. All it takes is a major event like what you described, and the workstation/cyber security thresholds go way up.
    The bivy tents in one of your pics does NOT look comfy at all. I'll pass on that level of luxury :)

    That was a great intro Mountain Mike!
    I had not ever looked at this thread before...

    Perhaps, I will post an intro for this thread? I was born in 1957, so I will be 59 in a few months. For those who are younger, it isn't that long before age hits you. In our minds, we are still 39 (or less) and only the body parts wearing out reminds us of our age!

    I got my first Tacoma in 2000 (I was 43) and now I am on my 3rd. All three were 4WD Off Road TRDs, the first was a 2001 Xtra Cab and the 2005 and 2010 were double cabs. My truck is my only vehicle and I use it for work (irrigation systems) and play (Baja and desert trips). Recently, I have been turning my play into some work (writing travel adventure and history stories about Baja California).

    Here I am last year on the Pole Line Road in Baja California (my truck in the ravine below). The poles (my hand on one) were installed by the U.S. government in 1942 to communicate with our radar base in San Felipe... very secret!

    Interested? Here's the story and road log:

    2 more west coast 50's!

    Have you seen the Death Valley thread? Sounds like stuff you guys would be interested in exploring.
    @mountain mike
    Are those pics from Coyote ridge, above Bishop? I have been wanting to explore those roads.
    I am Scoutmaster for a troop in the LA area and we do a tough round trip in San Jacinto every year, about 25 miles from Idyllwild to the tram then up to the peak and back down through Strawberry back to Idyllwild.

    Wow-thanks for the welcome! First, thanks for the info on your soft shell @CVYota. Two questions-what brand is yours and how is the visibility on the road and while backing up? Big Pine canyon is a few miles outside of Big Pine and heads up toward the Palisades, if it wasn't socked in with clouds you could see north palisade in the pic with the lake. The San Jac circuit IS TOUGH but a great accomplishment. @JD'STaco- if you ever get out here let me know we can try to do something or help out in one way or another. @David K-Welcome from another newbee! @Subway4X4-I do have bigger tents, but when you have to carry them uphill lighter is better. Enjoy your day 50's.

    Softopper, I rely on the backup camera, the windows get dirty in the desert and there is not much visability. But I have never backed into anything.

    I think Coyote ridge joins up with that road. Thanks for the info.
