Well, today I drove the other truck for the first time. Its amazing how some people will just destroy equipment. This truck has literally been beat to shit. BUT, it does have a CAT 6NZ motor, which is one of the best motors ever made. This motor was produced between 2000 and 2002 or so. It was built during a time that CAT was developing their emissions system to meet EPA standards. What they did was paid the federal govt a fine for every engine they produced between 2000 and 2003. In 2004 they had their emissions system working. They spent a BILLION dollars developing the damn thing, and it worked like shit. Sad, the govt. basically destroyed the on highway engine program at CAT. they produced their last on highway engines in 2007.
But this truck is a 2001 and has a 550 hp 6NZ, it has a 70" sleeper, extended hood, and LOW LEAF AIR. it rides SO nice. Ill be able to finish my career in comfort. But we have a lot of things to fix.

Hope you're getting some good loads. I'm seeing astronomical prices these days for both TL and LTL. Keep hearing the same thing - that FEMA has grabbed up all the capacity.

One of the last "Large Cars"..... :(

Good luck with it and take your time putting her back together....o_O

That truck will run forever with the "Right Pilot" who understands her....

Sadly, I watch the newer ones come in everyday with under 500,000 having major hic-ups that we would never see in a million miles with pre-emission motors

Lights out for this Old Man tonight , tomorrow starts a new chapter in the Peterbilt world......2nd generation "gets his feet wet" following in Dads foot steps.:hattip:

    Everyone enjoy their evening...

Very windy this am. Even t/storms. Thick rain drops. Not suppose to be like this in October.
At least the wind should pull down most of the leaves and then I can mow and swap the tractor over to blower.
Frame is prepped for FF. Last thing to do then start on the jeep.
    Happy happy joy joy..
