Heading out in an hour to do some trail work for a kids eagle project, lets see how long I last, I say half an hour.

I worked downtown LA for 18 years, got to know the homeless and none of them carried a sign. They liked the street, a feeling of freedom. I was glad to give them money or food or water.
A couple of years ago I was in Santa Monica, upscale hellhole. A homeless guy was complaining that he was hungry, I went and got him a nice turkey sandwich, he looked at it and got mad, 'I'm vegan, you could have asked before you got me something'...he got nothing.

And rats, poop and rats. If i had the time, space I would have a dog.

Most of them do just fine, I carry around water bottles and hand those out, they are happy to have them.

What you were at our union meetings years ago ?? When we were trying to toss the old one out for lack of doing anything but lining their own pockets we had several um differences of opinion settled in the parking lot.. After the meeting :{ . It got so bad the Exec board hired State Police to be security toward the end of their reign lol they wanted 1 trooper the troopers said nope 4 or none as they were concerned ..... with actually trying to go hands on with us. Most of us know them and the Locals who would not even touch that detail as we are the biggest LEO agency in the state. Hell on of the out going E-Board tried to toss the lead guy from the meeting who made the motion to dissolve the current union . It was a stacked house a bit over 150 supporters of getting rid of the current eboard. I was standing next to the Sgt At Arms when he tried I knew him and told him do not attempt it bud he was like nope not planning on it he can't do it anyhow with out a motion to do so . One of our largest guys ( competed in the strongman competitions at the time) stood up and told the E board guy you throw him out you going to have to throw me out !.. As soon as he said that you heard a bit over a hundred chairs screech back and all stood up and said us too.. LOL Sad but it is what it Is the eboard guy picked his stuff up and walked out. Motion carried and away we went ..

Every day I drive by the same corner at least once. Every day there is someone on that corner. Sometimes its the same person, sometimes its different persons. I do see some of the same people at different locations. I think they rotate corners. I would be broke if I gave money to these folks.
But what really pisses me off is when some do gooder thats a few cars back decides to stop and give them money when the light is green, and it causes me to miss the light.

 

Is it a little late this year for that? I dunno, cause Im not up on pennsylvania tree leaves falling, but Ive got a big ol Mulberry in the back yard that barfs its leaves in late november. It is a sad day for me, cause the leaves just rain down. Looks like the tree is dying. Anyway, it just feels like this year it isn't going to happen on time. The weather don't feel right this year.
On another note, I asked the new boss who is the BIG boss thats now our direct boss about doing salt, and he said we got underbid so we might not be doing it.
That sux because it was pretty good money and it wasn't that hard of work. Oh well. Just when you think things are going to go good, they don't.

I've lived at a couple areas along the coast and just never got into the beach thing. I didn't like the salt air of the north coast or all the people on the southern end.
